  • beckners Feb 05, 2008

I have the correct light bulb I have 2 bulbs 40w/ 120v both doing the
same thing. If I screw the bulb in the control panel gos out.

  • Anonymous Mar 15, 2008

I have the same problem just exactly as described. However the suggestion that is offered is of no help because that is exactly what kind of bulb we have tried to replace it with. It is an appliance light bulb with the correct voltage. Please let me know if there are any more suggestions.

Maybe the bulb is not compatible with a frigde itself. It is not like a convential house bulb that you can plug it on the socket and it will light up..
since these special light bulbs has low voltage.

if you want, you click this link below to purchase the right bulb.

All lights flicker on my 1998 mystic

I wonder if all the lights flicker?

Some headlight bulbs aren't held into the reflectors as securely as others and can appear to flicker due to vibration, bumps and so forth. In this case the other lights will not flicker. A similar effect can happen when the bulb connections aren't positive.

If all the lights flicker it must be the voltage that is fluctuating due to poor wiring connections or a fluctuating charge rate/alternator performance.

Can't get my working lights to come on

If you have power to the fuse box, measure with a multimeter to see how much you have from the battery, then to the fuse box... Then see how much leaving the fuse box, if there isn't any power leaving the fuse box,,, you have a faulty fuse box or a possible bad connection (ground) if you have power check the relays, often you relays go bad, you'll hear them flicker but the don't actual make the connection to give voltage to the lights... Also you can test the voltage at the light bulb socket with the power on and switch on with a multimeter..

Heating Element

If lights are flashing on the control panel, the heating element might have burned out. The heating element heats the water up to operating temperature. After a set amount of time if the temperature isn't reached a light on the control panel might start flashing. The heating element can be checked for continuity with an Ohm meter.

Heating Element Assembly

If lights are flashing on the control panel, the heating element assembly might have burned out. The heating element assembly heats the water up to operating temperature. After a set amount of time if the temperature isn't reached a light on the control panel might start flashing. The heating element assembly can be checked for continuity with an Ohm meter.

Check Fault Codes

If the display lights are flashing and there is an error code in the display window, check the wiring diagram and tech sheet in the dishwasher that will provide information on the fault.

Drain Pump

If lights are flashing on the control panel, the drain pump might not be working properly. For two-wire drain pump motors check them for continuity using an Ohm meter. If it's defective You'll need to replace it. Drain pumps are not repairable.

Touchpad and Control Panel

If the lights are flashing on the display the entire touchpad and control panel assembly might be defective. If the display works but the dishwasher functions are all out of synch, or some of the buttons don't respond properly the entire touchpad and control panel might need to be replaced.

Touchpad

If the display lights are flickering for no reason, the touchpad might need to be replaced. Sometimes when the touchpad is defective the display lights are flashing randomly.

No temperature digital display in refrigerator, light working, but loosing temperature in fridge & freezer

if its a G.E. make first check the PTC overload on the compressor to make sure compreesor is operating, if this isnt, check voltages on ptc,if no line voltage here, then check for the motherboard in the rear behind a panel as this board when bad will make digital readout go out and lights strobe and you may hear a clicking noise from there also as the lights flicker or strobe this board failure can be caused from a surge within the unit by a light bulb burning out or a power surge from outside too

Instrument panel lights do not come on.

Soldering the new bulbs in may have done something to the LH DIMMER MODULE ! The 10amp INT LPS fuse located in the I/P fuse box is good ? Is the dimmer switch at full bright ?
When the park lamps are on, battery positive voltage (B+) is supplied through the instrument panel (IP) fuse block INT LPS fuse via CKT 32 (YEL) to the dimming switch. The dimming switch supplies a variably controlled voltage to the dimmer module(s). The potentiometer in the panel dimming control cannot provide enough current in order to operate the panel lamps. The dimmer module(s) amplifies the current, supplying the variable voltage to the panel lights. As the amount of the current increases, the lamps become brighter. As the amount of the current decreases, the lamps become dimmer.
Buick
There is only 1 dimmer module that supplies current to the panel lights. The left dimmer module supplies current via CKT 8 (GRY) to the following components:
• The headlamp switch
• The door switch flood lamps
• The heater and A/C control
• The door handle flood lamps
• The passenger temperature control
• The ashtray lamp
• The shift select switch lamp
• The instrument cluster
• The steering wheel controls
• The reset switch
• The trip odometer
• The radio
Parade Dimming
The parade dimming feature prevents the dimming of the VF displays when daylight is sensed by the lamp control module (LCM) and the park lamps are turned on manually. If the LCM senses night time conditions and the park lamps are on, the LCM allows the VF displays to be dimmed.
All of the modules with the VF displays receive the dimming level from an input on CKT 8 (GRY) or CKT 1244 (BRN). When the LCM determines that the above conditions are met, the LCM sends a signal to the instrument cluster and the radio via CKT 390 (YEL). For Buick, the radio then relays this information to the heater and A/C programmer and passenger temperature control via CKT 724 (PPL/WHT). The modules with the VF displays then adjust the dimming level of their VF displays to match the level of the incandescent lights.

The lights and fan don't work after replacing the bulb

We see (and repair) this a lot. The problem is on the control panel, which we regularly repair nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in about a week or so.

At our Web site, you can get details of our service, plus we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

This light failure often occurs when a bulb goes out and the filament shorts, or when the bulbs are removed or installed without first unplugging the oven from the power line. Either can cause such a failure on the controller.

The lights can can be inoperable or stuck on or no bright, too. Sometimes this will similarly affect the exhaust fan operation or inside light, too.

Feel free to contact me directly (and please remind me of your full model number from the tag on the unit) for more information & help.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

AC display panel lights

You will need to replace the whole in-dash A/C control unit. Changing the small bulb won't rectify your problem, as the display is LCD.
