When I start (not all the times) my laptop the screen fails a bunch of static is on the screen of my computer. This had been happening for 2 weeks now and ive started to worry because it is happening more frecuenty. This is the 3rd time the start up repair program has open out but this time it couldnt fix the problem. Rite now the laptop is working but if i move the screen more static appears. I have droped it once or twice but a long time before the problems started to happen. Ive cleaned my laptop but the problem continues. Please help my mom gave me this laptop for graduation and its only been a year.
Dropping a laptop doesnt mean that damage will happen instantly, alot of the time it will take a while for the damage to come into affect, it could be that the screen has become loose from its connectors, i wouldnt recommend you do this youself, LCD's are very flexible and can break easy, if it is still under warranty ring acer and ask, even if it is not, ring acer and they could advise on a action.

factory recovery if the computer is booting to windows, then click start and open a folder named as 'acer' listed in ' all programs '.You will find the ' Acer e-recovery managent ' in that folder. You can open it and click allow for the user account controls. Please click 'restore ' for the next screen and the select the first option, 'completely restore to factory defaults '.Follow the on screen instruction to initiate the Recovery. The Alternate method for starting the Recovery on startup is using the combination of ALT+F10 ( some models its ALTgr ) on startup.Press and Hold down the ALT( Left hand of space ) and at the same time keep on tapping the F10 key till you get the message " Windows is loading files".Just follow the On screen Instructions to start the Recovery.
It appears that the issue might be with some hardware malfunctions. It may happen due to hardware failure, BIOS mismatch or due to
static charge. Let us try the basic troubleshooting. Turn Off the
Computer, remove all the devices attached to the computer, the power
cable and battrey, now holdon the power button for 15 secs (make sure
adpater and battery are uplugged) it will drain out all the static
charge. Now, restart the computer and keep on tapping F2, you will enter
to BIOS setup utility, press F9 (click "Yes", if you are prompted) and
then press F10 (Click "Yes", if you are prompted), it will restart the
computer. If still it is not booting to normal mode, then we have to
perform a full system recovery & it is a distructive process as you will
loose all the datas on the computer. To do so, Turn Off the computer,
now as soon as you hit the power button, keep on holding "Alt" key &
keep on tapping "F10" key, i.e Alt+f10, it will open the recovery
console, select full factory restore and follow onscreen instruction.
NOTE: This will erase all the datas on the computer
see if your system restore is in my computer c:\ drive
should be there it will probably say acer on the folder
restart while in restart press F7 then when options appear select boot with cd or cd/dvd
then enter this will start the system with the cd
if it does'nt start the win setup then restart might need to try a couple times
if setup still does'nt start then make sure the cd is the right recovery disk
This is generally caused by a hard drive failure. You can try to repair or reinstall the operating system with your recovery or operating system disc. If you have any issues or problems during or after the repair/reload then the hard rive has failed and will need to be replaced.
