Question about Archos 704 WiFi Digital Media Player
Your post/description indicates a possible problem with the firmware. It would seem that the Archos 704 would load but fail to finish and there restarts itself. This could only be possible if somehow the firmware has been corrupted or you tried a firmware upgrade but failed halfway.
Things you can try:
1. Do a soft reset. Press on the power button for about 15 seconds;
2. Do a full/hard reset by removing the batteries and pressing the master reset button;
3. Do a Systems Recovery by powering on and immediately press/hold the TV button till Recovery Mode is displayed. Follow on screen instruction of Forcing Touch Screen Calibration. You may need also to format the internal HD but that would mean you loose whatever data is inside.
If the above is not corrective, am afraid that your unit has been partially bricked. Some have reported serious hardware or firmware problems with the 704 that would require replacement by the manufacturer.
Hope that this be of help/idea. Pls post back how things turned out or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.
