There are some mp3 players that support this but unfortunately the RCA Pearl series is not one of them. The Rio Forge, Nitrus, CE2100 and the Carbons all support this as well as having hard bookmarks built in. Oh, I believe the RCA H100A (4 and 6 gig) supports this feature. So if you are willing to upgrade then..But beware, the H100A is one of the worst players RCA has put out to date.

You mean stop in the middle of a track and pick up where you left off? No....no such technology exists for MP3 Players.

Creative Zen V Plus Bookmarks

A little known feature on this player is the ability to use bookmarks, up to 10 of them. Many of you listen to podcasts or audio books which may be fairly lengthy and if you have to stop in the middle of what ever you're listening to, normally when you go back to your player you would have to start all over again.<br /><br />A note about <span style="font-style: italic;">"resuming playback":</span> If you shutdown during playback of a podcast or audio book (not pausing or stopping playback first) your Zen will automatically resume playback when you start it back up.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Zen V Plus Bookmarking</span><br /><br />You can insert bookmarks during playback. How can I read a book on mij gogear philips?

Unfortunately, your Philips GoGear Portable video player SA6045 doesn't support audio books. But it does play books that are in MP3 or WMA format, it does not support navigation through chapters or bookmarking.

So you need to convert them into MP3 or WMA format and you can listen to them.

Hope this helps..

I can figure out how to set a bookmark but I can't figure out how to select one to play. Help please. Thanks

A bookmark marks a point within a track, so you can return to it at a later time.

For example, if you are listening to your recording of an interview, insert a bookmark if you need to stop halfway through. When you want to continue listening from where you left off, go to this bookmark.

You can use up to 10 bookmarks at any one time.
To insert a bookmark
  1. Play the track that you want to bookmark.
  2. In the Now Playing view, while the track is playing, press options.jpg and select Set Bookmark.
  3. Select a bookmark number.
If all 10 bookmark numbers have been assigned, clear an existing bookmark. In the main menu, select Music > Bookmarks. Press options.jpg and select Clear Bookmark.
To go to a bookmark
  1. On the main menu, select Music > Bookmarks.
  2. Select the bookmark that you want.

Bookmark

According to RCA you have to get a particular udiobook download. There was a free trial from somewhere in my origional package and that was the correct place for bookmarking.

Pause on sansa c250

Unfortunately, there is not a way, even with a firmware upgrade. This is the #1 criticism of this particular Sansa player - there's no bookmarking feature, making this absolutely lousy for audiobooks.

No longer holds a bookmark

I've had my MuVo V100 for a year and can tell you it only saves the bookmark for the last file played. Hence, if you're into a long audiobook, don't switch to another. I've taken to making note of where I am because if the battery dies while playing it will also go back to the last saved bookmark.

TIP: if you accidentally switch away from a book you're listening to, pull the battery BEFORE turning it off -- it will revert to your last bookmark.

my 2 cents

Sansa m200 won't fast forward

Unfortunately, this device does not support bookmarking. You are going to always have this problem. You may want edit the song into individual chapters. You can download a third party application to auto create them every few minutes or so. Best of Luck.
