Question about SanDisk Sansa e260 MP3 Player

My sandisk 260r frequently freezes up

I use window xp. rhapsody music software.
When using my sandisk 260r mb mp3 player it will frequently freeze up. The only way I am able to unfreeze it is to disconnect the battery. It will work for a short period of time, maybe and hour or two, and then freezes up again. The only response I get from Best Buy is that I should have purchased their extended warranty. I have only had this unit for two months and the problem appears to becoming more frequent

I do not have a glue as to how to format this unit. I am 65 years old and basically computer illiterate.
    Your assistance is greatly appreciated

The problem where it would go to the sandisk logo and turn white then keep repeating, but it can be fixed.
call sandisk help line, they will email you two files which you will copy onto your player(when it is in recovery mode) and then you will unplug it. It will say that its is formatting for a while then eventually it will restart. it may work the first time but they say it might take more than one try.

if u r not able to reach thek at help line, you can do it by yourself too.
perform recovery mode on the player and create a file named sansa.fmt
and put that file in the 16 MB format that should reformat the whole
player after you have put that file in the drive and unplugged the
player from the computer. After that has been done try to update the
    firmware of the player.
this must solve the problem for sure shot.

    thank you,

    good luck.

Try check the memory settings.how big is the capacity of your memory card? try check these stuffs because not all of these gadgets are compatible with each other especially if the memory has exceeded to its required space.

if the memory card is much bigger than the required space of your player, try to reduce the size of your memory card to run the application properly.

My MP3 player displays "License Expired" on the screen.

If you let your subscription to Rhapsody expire, you will get this message. If you didn't let your subscriptino expire then you will need to synch the files from Rhapsody itself back onto the player - the licenses have to be renewed once a year for some songs - once a month for others. If your subscriptino ever expires, you can no longer use the songs.

Player stopped working with rhapsody

Uh, I had a similar problem which was extremely difficult to solve. What you want to do is reformat your entire MP3 player. YOU WILL LOSE ALL THE MUSIC ON YOUR SANSA. But you can simply resynch it.

E-260 freezes when computer is trying to read it in Rhapsody program

I read some of the other post and found that I needed to use Windows Media Player. I had the Rhapsody program on my computer as well. Once I downloaded Windows Media Player I was able to access the files and add and delete songs.

My husband is not a big fan of Media Player. Lets hope I haven't done anything that he will have to fix. :)

Good Luck.

MP3 player freezes in MTP mode when using Rhapsody

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
-----
Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/DriverDownloads.aspx

I dont no how to download

ben there are actually two modes of transfer the player is using. The first is by choosing MSC/Rhapsody on the player. You can drag and drop songs to the player provided they are not purchase from any online music stores like rhapsody, bestbuy music, or walmart.com. The other mode is MTP/Plays for Sure you can transfer songs to the player using windows media player 11 software or any mtp softwares. You can use this link for more instructions

http://sandisk.com/sansa/ then choose support then softwares and user manual then choose your model then on the right window click on the link How to Videos.

Rhapsody Freezing up with Creative Zen Vision M

I have found that it works if I dump all mp3:s in one directory, the freeze only happens if \Music has a lot of subdirectories. Weirdness! The drawback is that synching seems to be a lot slower with all mp3:s in one directory.

tried doing a cleanup, reformatting, and reloading firmware,

Need file transfer Software!!!???

You do not need any specific software to transfer music. You can Drag and Drop files thru Windows XP or Vista, or use Windows Media Player 10 or higher, Rhapsody, or several other music management programs.

The only software on the CD was Rhapsody, or the Best Buy Digital Media Store. Both of which are on the internet.
