then just move to ur near by expert technician and tell ur problem... if u r not afraid means just do as i say take of the rom drive in ejected mode (if it s not ejecting means then use a pin into the small hole which called as emergency eject hole... push the pin inside drive will eject then take off the drive open it and clean it wit a dry cloth especially clen near the rubber belt which is connected to dc motor... and take off the dust cleanly and then give a try....

Had the same problem on Mac.
Solution: You need to connect device to machine on Linux and give it "eject" command.
Do not to connect device to Windows machine. I was trying to burn cd on Mac. Then it was interrupted in the middle of burning (some files were missing). When I connected drive to Win it tryed to unsuccessfully read it and eventually explorer.exe crushed. And it will not resolve until you reboot the machine.

Click start control panel administrive tools, computer management, device manager scroll down cd-dvd rom drives you might see a yellow question mark ? right click you will have options to update driver, roll back driver,or select properties general troubleshoot, select driver click to reinstall drivers click update driver or uninstall then reinstall if this does not fix the problem it might be a registry problem if you cant see your disk drive in windows explorer
Close all open programs

Click on Start, Run, and type regedit and press Enter
Click on the plus signs (+) next to the following folders

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

SYSTEM

CurrentControlSet

Control

Class

{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

This folder is the DVD/CD-ROM Drive Class Description in the registry. Look for any of the following names in the right hand column.

Upper Filters

Lower Filters

Upper Filters.bak

Lower Filters.bak

If any of the above keys shown in step 4 are listed, right-click on them and choose Delete

After deleting the keys, close the registry editor
Reboot your computer

Open My Computer and check to see if your CD or DVD drives have returned. You may also want to open Device Manager and verify that the yellow exclamation and error code on the CD or DVD drive is gone. or
you might have to physically unplug the leads for this cd/dvd then plug them back this should activate the found new hardware wizard or

you might have to uninstall then restart your computer then reinstall your DVD/CD then reinstall the driver for this device
if your computer came with a motherboard disk the drivers could be on it
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll down cd dvdrom drives if you see a yellow question or exclamation mark?! or a red x right click you will need to update the driver or
select properties general troubleshoot, select driver click to reinstall drivers click update driver
hope this helps

I have an HP Pavilion mx704 desktop PC 2005 model, and I can not burn music onto a CD. This computer has a CD burner, and when I start burn of the downloaded song, it says insert disk, I put a blank CD-R...

What OS and burn software are you using? Can you see the music files when you look at the file explorer on the computer (My Computer or Computer in Windows and double click on the optical drive)? Check if the disc has any scratches.

If you see the music listed on the optical disc, check if the disc was finalized. (Again in Windows Computer, right click on the optical drive and it should be an option if the disc hasn't been finalized.)

If there are no files on the CD-R, make certain that the disc isn't being formatted before you try the burn. (Formatting should only be done on R/W discs.)

If the music files are on the optical disc and the disc was finalized, your CD player is not tracking across the disc properly. Try a lens cleaner. It may need repair and I've never successfully repaired a CD drive (the only ones I've had fail were in computers and were cheaper to replace). The mirror and the belt are the most likely places to have issues.

I hope this helps.

DVD will not burn

I also have had this problem, upon inserting the disk, the computer reads it and just as qkicly ejects it saying that there is no unused space available. It gets frustrating, I simply pushed the disk tray with same disk on it, back into the tower. I must do this everytime I want to copy a disk, but after putting it in a second time it works great, no problem. Give it a try.If you have and no result, you could try shutting down your computer, it sounds silly but that is the solution to almost all of our little computer problems. Simply restarting seems to clear things up a little, computers our goofy that way, and I am sure that some techno geek could explain it all- but for now we manage. Hope that this is of some help to you. God bless...

CD's won't burn right!

Try reinstalling the drivers for your CD bay.

Either the CD that came with the bay, or find them online ....

Right-Clickie your My Computer and find the name of your CD Bay in the list on the Hardware page ... delete it, or right-clickie and uninstall the driver.

Reboot the computer and it should re-detect the drive, or find the drivers you copied earlier.

If that doesn't solve the problem, then it might be the type of CDs that you are using. Have you changed brands lately??

You need to "Finalize" the disc, or it will not play on any other dvd player other than your LG. Finalizing the disc permanently commits any data onto the disc, no more writing or editing can be done.
