Belkin 5D3230-4 not working at all

Hi. I've had a Belkin F57230-4 wireless router for some time. Since yesterday the power led, the #1 port and the WAN leds are blinking and the "Connected" led is off. All other leds are off. I can connect to the internet from my desktop computer which is connected to the #1 port but my wireless access is out. I can't enter the web based configuration utility. I have checked and replaced the ethernet cables, disconnected the router and cable modem for hours and nothing has happened. I've also tried to reset the router with the "reset" (press and release and also 15 sec. for hard reset) button but nothing happens. I'm guessing the router is fried. What can be happening?

Xsugarbox, the problem is that I can't access the web based configuration utility, therefore I can't update the firmware.

My Dell desktop using Windows XP can't connect to my Belkin 5720 router but my laptop still works?

This sounds like a hardware failure, but just in case go to your computer Control Panel-Network Connections(Network and Sharing Center for Vista and above), and check your Network adapter settings. If your Network card is not showing, you may have a driver issue, or a bad NIC (Network Interface Card). It shouldn't matter that your router says" wireless hardware not detected", because you are hardwired from the computer to the router. I would check to see if you may have turned off, or blocked Ethernet connections on your router, I would then change my Cat5 (Ethernet) cable, and finally open the desktop and change out the NIC (Network Interface Card).

Cannot connect to internet today. Yesterday all was well.

If the modem works and a desktop pc works through the Ethernet port of the router, then try plugging the pc laptop into the same Ethernet port using the same cable as the desktop. Most laptops have an Ethernet port.

If this works, then the problem is the wireless access?

Check you still have the wireless set-up on the pc laptop, if not re-install it.

My belkin router does not give signal, only lights on are the modem and the numbers of the ports... power, wireless and internet are not on

Hi,

If there is no Power light in the router its obvious the router has gone bad. But still you can try few troubleshooting steps. Try Unplugging and replugging the power cable of the router and try resetting the router for 10 sec (use a paper clip and hole the pin hole reset button on the rear end to reset it). If still the power light did not come then contact 1 800 2235546 (Belkin Toll free number) and request a replacement.

Thanks in advance!

Prema.

The only light on my router is the router light. No other lights are coming on. I have tried rebooting.

When facing the router, Globe/Internet LED is on the right. Below are the LED indicators; Check the steps below:

Wireless Security - This light will only turn on if the wireless security is enabled.

Wireless-Computer Status - This light will turn on if a wireless computer is connected to the router.

Wired-computer Status - This light will turn on if a wired computer is connected to the router. Connect the wired computer to any gray port on the router. (There are 4 gray ports).

Router Status - Power light. Solid blue means the router is on and ready.

Modem Status - If this is off, it means the router is not connected to the modem. Make sure the cable is connected from the modem to the yellow port on the router.

Internet Status - This light will indicate if the router is connected to the internet.

If this is the first time you are installing the router, then what is important is to get the router, wired-computer and modem lights ON. Once they are on, you may insert the CD that came with the Belkin router to setup the internet connection and wireless settings.

No power led, wlan led blinking

well, what you could try is unplugging the power source from the cable modem, and the router. wait about 1 minute. then plug everything back in and wait.

i remember having this problem as well, but i think the problem with me was that my wireless computer was too far away from the wireless router, not saying that your too far or not, but that what i had, so i just pitched the wireless adapter, and created an ethernet connection. just sharing my experience.
