Question about Ulead PhotoImpact 8 SE
My computer recently crashed and i had to re-nstall alot of things, and my photoimpact pro wasnt working properly so i uninstalled it and tried to re-install it and i put in the disk, go through all the "i agree," stuff, and put in the serial # and click on install and it says there is another verson of photoimpact pro on my computer and i have to go to add/remove programs before i can do anything, so i go there and photoimpact pro is NOWHERE on teh list, so i have done searches of my whole computer, i have tried going through everyfolder, i cant figure out where this other version of photoimpact pro is to uninstall so i can re-install (confused yet?) i really need it, i cant work without it! can anyone help me?
Hi oh silver....help is here. Step one...Download Ccleaner and run the tegistry scan (it's free) as well as the application scans. Step two go to tools in Ccleaner and if it appears uninstall it. Now go to Regedit....type the command in the run box....find the find command, type in photoimpact, and delete those keys or values....BE VERY CAREFUL to not delete anything else. Do the search on the entire registry. When done....reboot....and try to install again. It should work and you may have a faster machine as well (vis-a-vie cleaning the registry). By the way....if you wish to clean even more junk out of the registry try Wiseregistrycleaner....I use both but suggest only the former to most folks as the latter requires one understand what it's doing (but it's still pretty failsafe).
You might also want to do a registry back up or create a restore point before doing all this stuff.
You will succeed. Tango.. PS...Suggest you use Ccleaner weekly if you access the internet along with Ad-aware and Spybot Search and Destroy....also do a scandisk at least monthly and every 3 months do a thorough scandisk (the latter takes some time to run).

Photo impact pro as a software has compatibility requirements. For example, impact pro was invented during the times of windows Xp operating systems with Microsoft computers. Imply that, impact pro would hardly function with apple Mac computers. Since the Xp operating systems, computers have gone through design fronts of Windows Vista 1 & 2, and recently displaying Windows 7 on those acquired on the market over years ago. The most recent multimedia photo editor software's acquirable on the retail market have compartibilies with more recent computers. Alternately, performing a computer alteration may achieve installation capabilities. First, finding a computer still functioning on windows XP, millennium, 2000 or 1998 would make installation possible. However, sustain wearsomeness since windows 98 earlier years computers were least designed for multimedia capabilities as known with Photo Impact Pro 8.5. Second, a possibility of acquiring Windows Xp disk software on the retail market to replace the one on the computer would make impact pro installable. However like known of operating system software's, it is only possible to install the same operating system on an existing one on a computer as restoration purposes. If different software should be acquired like XP requesting installation on windows Vista or Windows 7, the entire hard disk drive has to be erased of media traces of the prior. Alerternately, a new operating system may be installed if only a new hard drive, memory cards were acquired to replace the prior on the computer to make possible installation of Photo Impact pro 8.5
