Question about Computers & Internet
Whenever I try to play a .wmv file with windows media player, it says that the file is unsuported. I have the latest player, but it still won't play the file. I also have the latest Real player, but it also can't play .wmv files. Both players play wmv files some times, but when I download some clips with .wmv file formats from the internet, they won't play. Could someone please help me?
Thank you very much
You could try re-downloading the latest version of Windows Media Player from one of the links provided below.
WMP 11 will support the latest codecs, but if for some reason you find yourself needing the older version, use WMP 10.
You will most likely have to remove your current version of WMP, and you can do this by using Windows Add/Remove programs.

I had the same problem you have and I downloaded WMP 11 over the WMP 11 that I had installed already and my WMV started automatically as soon as the download finished...Give it a try

I still couldn't fix that problem even after installing WMP 11 or WMP 10. What to do?
