Question about Crosley CR64 Phone (CR64BCORCR64BCORCR64BC)

1 Answer

Buttons (numbers) don't work

I have a Crosley CR64 replica candlestick phone that all of a sudden won't dial. I can talk on the phone if I get a call, but I can't dial out. The numbers don't do anything when I press them, or seemingly get stuck and I hear a long beep over the dial-tone.

Try reversing the polarity in the phone jack.[ reversing the red & green wires] the phone company may have been doing some work in your area. but first check to see if the phone is set on touch tone when it may need to be on pulse.
good luck

Hello. I have a M7310 Nortel office phone. All of a sudden, the Speed Dial button will not work. In checking the phone, all the speed dial numbers are still programed in the phone, but again the speed dial...

What? They are either programmed or not programmed. If the button is blank, I'm voting for NOT programmed.

If your system is old enough, it's probably lost the backup battery. Ugly things, like pulse dial and only 2 lines are what usually happens, along with losing all of the button mapping but your 2 lines and the default programs of LNR, CONF, etc.

If it's just one phone, there's no magic recall. You'll just have to reprogram it. Same with the system if you've lost everything, but I"d call a repair tech first to fix the battery on the software cartridge.

I have the KX-T7020. How do I reprogram the auto dial numbers?

Here's a guess. Is the 7020 the one with 16 buttons? If so, they are marked CO 1-12 and F1-4. You program them by putting the phone in PROG from the switch on the back of the phone, then press the button and 1. If it's a F button, dial 9 + number and STORE. If it's a CO button dial 29 + number and STORE.

If you're talking SYSTEM speed dial numbers, those are done from the display phone at jack 01 and putting the system in programming.

Use call phones through voip321

It took me a while to figure out but here is how I am able to dial out from skype to a hardline to a person not in my skype contact. Simply start to dial the number (not from the talk button!!!) then instead of hitting the talk button to dial, hit the skype button on the bottom left hand side. I also have to dial 001 then the phone number. Hope this works for you too. good luck.

RadioShach Cat No. 43-8978 Phone (Today NexxTech - The Source CC)

Hi,
It is hard to diagnose an issue without having the phone in front of me. It can be namy things. These are probably made in CHina or overseas using cheap components.

What I would first suspect, is frayed wires inside the coiled cord. You can't see them broken, because they are covered up. It sould be the switch where the ophone hangs up. Many components are hot glued in place, dumb idea.

If you can hear the other person even parely it shows that there is an issue with a good connection. Over time, wires flex, and can break inside the cord. Switches might get out of place, get loose due to the hot glue coming off. Switches can also get dirty and must have contact cleanier sprayed inside the switch.
What I can suggest, is that you make a call, then when listening, wiggle the whole coiled cord wire back and forth, up and down, all directions. IF there is a momentary time when you can hear loudly, then you have found your problem. If the phone was in front of me, I could make some tests, but it is impossible to diagnose over the internet.
There may be a member of an antique telephone collectors forum around your area. I know the phone is not antique, but they will have the ability to test the phone locally.
Good lcuk.
