You will need to uninstall the entire printer and disconnect the printer. After that, put in the CD, and if it does not autostart, open My Computer and double click the drive that the CD is in. It should start a program that will allow you to install the software needed for scanning, as well as the driver for the printer.

Possible that the installed drivers is not the one for the model and so does not activate the scanning mode.So it will be best to recheck on the site with the requriement for driver for the correct model and install. So to reset remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and then connect the Printer to be detected as a new hardware as it will be installed. Now check the printer properties to see the ink levels.
There is an exact install process that makes wireless printers work, get the install directions and program from HP.com and follow exactly.
In essence, the printer gets installed usually VIA USB, then the wireless portion gets set up, and FINALLY each machine needs a full install run on it, seeking the network based printer.
Do not use plug and play, it only partially will work.
Remove the printer from the printers list. Uninstall the driver software for the printer. Then do a search, using search for files and folders, looking for any files that are related to the samsung SCX4826FN and delete the files found.
Restart your computer. Unplug your printer. Re-install the Samsung software and shut down you computer. Re-connect the printer to the computer and start up your computer. The computer will find the new hardware and look for the driver you installed. The driver should install automatically.

go to the samsung website and under support /downloads and download the driver for windows 7 that corresponds with your printer. unplug your printer and turn it off reboot and then start he install process again. follow the steps. I had to call brother support once to figure it out i had the same problem. Good luck
Some thoughts. When you plug it into the computer that it will not print to, Does it tell you there is a new USB device found? 2. I am sure you have tried different USB ports on the computer. 3. Right click your printer to access the properties on the driver and select Ports and see if that somehow was changed. 4. Just delete the printer from the "printers" page in control panel. Then click add printer and search for it. 5. Make sure the computer does not have a firewall that is blocking the printer. 6. Make sure there is no job error in the print queue. 7. Be sure the printer is selected as the "Default" printer. If there is another printer loaded on the computer, is the wrong one selected? 8 Make sure Print Pause is not selected. I do suspect once you open the properties on the driver page you will find the problem. Unless of course your USB port or ports on the computer have failed.
