open control panel...

mouse....
the tab Device Settings
click Settings
click Tapping on the left
click the check box enable tapping

and for everyone with problems with nothing working on the pad at all hold down the FN key next to the control key and press F9

My touchpad and keyboard stoped responding in normals windows mode but did work in safe mode. When I looked into this problem- and after much time and effort- I found that the problem was caused by the battery. It had simply worn out and even with the mains power plugged into the laptop the keyboard and touchpad would not work. I replaced the battery and the problem was solved. That could possibly be your problem??

Touch pad refuses to work

Try going to Toshiba's support page and re-install the driver for the touchpad. If this does not work. You may need to replace the touchpad itself.

Touch pad not working properly

Plug in a usb mouse and go to control panel>system>hardware>device Manager (if using XP) or control panel>system>device manager (if using vista) and right click on pointing devices, unistall the touch pad and reboot - remove the usb mouse and the touchpad will be installed again as new hardware. I hope this helps

Touch pad possessed.

To turn off the touchpad when an external mouse or other pointing device is present, you can goto the Control Panel and double click the Mouse properties icon.

Click the Device Select tab and check "Disable Touch Pad when USB Pointing Device is present." The cursor will no longer move via the touchpad.

Alternatively, you can permanently disable the touchpad of your laptop by clicking the "Disable Device" in the Touch Pad setting. Advanced users can disable the touchpad from the BIOS setup [press F2 when the computer is booting to enter BIOS settings]

For extra USB ports, purchase a USB hub($15 -$20). That way you can add at least 4 USB ports to your laptop.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Touch pad failed.

Look along the top of the keyboard for an "f key" that shows a "touch pad" icon, IF you see it, press the "function key" (along the bottom of the keyboard) PLUS at the same time the "f key" (that you found along the top) and that should "toggle" the touch pad back on....
Also, IF you plug in a USB mouse that will allow you to move the cursor around--but the USB mouse doesn't fix your touch pad problem.
Hope this helps.

Toshiba laptop touchpad click not working

Ok so here goes.... I had the same problem:

Go to the 'start' button and then hit the 'control panel' option, then click 'mouse' then go to 'Device Settings' and then to the 'settings'. When you get to this screen it shows a list on lthe left hand side choose the 'tapping' option and then ok.

Hope it works for you...it did for me.
