Dude, that's a hard stuff to do well in fact that it cannot be removed from the laptop itself. I suggest that have it repaired to a liscensed technician to avoid damage of your laptop. ok??

Goodluck!!

Remove keyboard 646125-001

  1. Prior to replacing your replacement keyboard for sony vaio vgn-fe880e/h, make sure to remove the keyboard and disconnect the ac adapter from your laptop.
  2. The first step to replacing your laptop keyboard is to remove the screws from the back of your vaio vgn-fe880e/h. Sometimes your laptop will have a picture of a keyboard next to the screws that need to be removed. Otherwise, see your laptop manual for details.
  3. Above the laptop keyboard for sony vaio vgn-fe880e/h, you have a cover panel. If required, remove this part to easily access your keyboard. If you have screws above your keyboard, remove those screws.
  4. Now that you have removed all the screws, you are ready to remove and then replace your new laptop keyboard.
  5. To remove the vaio vgn-fe880e/h Keyboard, take a thin object and pry the keyboard out between the keyboard and motherboard. Be careful when removing the keyboard.
  6. Now that your keyboard is loose, simply disconnect your keyboard. In order to disconnect the keyboard, pay attention to the keyboard connector and connector cable. Unlock the connector cable device and remove your laptop keyboard. Your sony vaio vgn-fe880e/h connector cable should be easy to remove by simply sliding it out.
  7. Now that your keyboard has been removed, get ready to install your new laptop keyboard. Look at the back of the keyboard. If you see any screw holes, you will have a good idea of where to place the screws back in at the bottom of the laptop.
  8. Connect your laptop keyboard for sony vaio vgn-fe880e/h to the motherboard keyboard connection slot. Secure the keyboard cable. Now turn your keyboard in place, and align the grooves on the bottom of your keyboard with your palmrest or plastic bezel. Secure your laptop keyboard in place, make sure it fits properly and is snug. Now simply place the screws back in place.

Keyboard popped out and I can't figure out how to

It is a ribbon connector, that hasn't broken or ripped?

There will be a small white recepticle with two levers sticking out each side. They are very small, but they will be the only thing that moves, so you can find them with a bit of poking around)
Pull the two levers forward to where the ribbon will be comming into the recepticle. (see how it aligns together when the keyboard is in it's proper position.)
Slide the end of the ribbon into the recepticle as far as it will go, and with it in place, push the two levers on each side back into their locked position, which will be back in the same direction the ribbon moved to enter the recepticle.

Give the ribbon a tug to see that it's firmly held in position; then before snapping it back into place, try it out by turning on the laptop and testing Caps Lock, or Num Lock keys to see if the indicator lights change.

If the keyboard dosn't work , be shure the ribbon is not dammaged, and that it is seated in the recepticle as far as it can go.

A little practice and you'll be a master.

Good luck with this.

I ave keys that are not workig and others that are not working at all. For instance 1234 789. haveing problems with other keys like th ety, fgh. Does anyone know what my probelem is ? email me at...

Hello,

All the keys that are not working are all one area, which could unlikely be liquid spileage. You could try and rinse your keyboard out with some commercial alcohol, and pressing the keys constantly. If you do this make sure your battery is and power is disconnected. Leave for a while and then try again to see if keyboard works. Otherwise you will need to replace your laptop.

Laptop lcd

The backlight is either disconneted or has burned out. I would remove the keyboard and molding and replug the display cable. I think it probably just wiggled loose. Just be careful when you remove the molding so nothing gets broken.

If the screen still is not lighting up then you may have to send the laptop in for repair or replace the LCD yourself.

Hope this helps.
