Question about Motorola Mobility RAZR V3

Motorola V3 RAZR won't charge!!!

This has happened to some friends of mine also.

I bought it about a year ago and around the time (a year later) I bought it, the charger stopped working.

I tried several chargers on my phone and other RAZR's - but they just won't charge.

1. Is this happening to anyone else?
2. Can I fix this problem?
3. Or should I just get a new charger?
4. Even better, get a new phone?

I've had my razor for about 2 yrs now and suddenly it won't hold a charge for more than 12 hours. I went and bought a new battery for it and it was fine for about 2 days. I recharged the new battery again and the same thing happened it lost the charge befor the day was out.

You said 'you tried it on different chargers' assuming that the chargers are the problem right?
then you also said 'and other RAZRs', now I assume you tried the phones too has the problem.

Question:
have you tried your charger into other razrs? has it worked? if yes, there's nothing wrong with it.

have you then tried another charger into your phone assuming that the charger is the faulty device? did it work? if so, probably the charger really was the problem.

whatever the result between the questions above will surely help you decide. your phone is only a year old, it would be too soon to replace them. spending on devices is not an easy thing, won't you agree? I am using a razr v3 for quite a long time (since 2006) and so far nothing was wrong with it (except that it was infected by a virus before because of my surfing on wap, that's why i download wallpapers etc. via my pc now after a strenuous pressure of reformatting).

with your story however, i think the battery has the problem. depending on usage, batteries will wear off easily. it's been 2 years but i haven't changed mine yet (though i noticed that its battery life had been decreasing lately inspite of my minimal use of the razr).
in order to avoid the immediate wearing off of batteries in any rechargeable device (even if you decide to change your phone in the end), MAKE SURE AT LEAST MORE OFTEN IF NOT ALWAYS that your battery level is in 0 point, let your batteries be dried into pulp then fully charge your phone. Another thing, plug the charger to your phone first; also, do not let your phone turned on while charging. these suggestions will ensure you're batteries' longer life span.

all the best!

My razr v3 died yesterday. tried all night charging, still dead. no juice to turn on. bought 2 years ago, worth new battery?

Well... I would say no.. Not worth battery.. I had the same thing happen to me where my phone wouldn't charge and we bought a new battery for $50.00 and then we find out my phone is shot.. so I would strongly recommend getting a new phone..

Screen doesn't work. only after sereval attempts

This is a known problem for Razr V3. I had a phone like it with the same problem four years ago... I bought another brand and put the V3 away..three years later the phone works perfectly but I have not used it since three years..only turned it on to see if the screen will come on. Get the phone repaired or buy a new one. this is common on a RAZR

Can't download from my pc to my phone

You'll need the motorola software compatible with the v3 and the connection wire. I bought mine on ebay for around $10 and it came with a cd loaded with ringtones, mp3s and pics.

V3 Razr

It's the phone itself that needs to be fixed. Buyer beware as they say about Ebay. There are cheap repair shops around depending on where you live. No more than $50. Might have to call around to fid one.

Phone won't turn on/charge

Kikimenor: Advise. If this is your 3rd RAZR V3, you must encourage Cingular (Now is the new AT&T) to replace your whole unit with another model. A friend of mine exchange his phone 4 times, until Cingular replace it. Motorola had too many problems with RAZR phones and that's why they launch quickly the SLVR L7. They still producing the RAZR, because users love the style and shape of the phone, but reality is that Motorola had several heavy issues with RAZR (Bluetooth, batt, microphone, etc.) If you're paying for an insurance on your unit, encourage them to replace it.
