Would like to use my Sony TRV87 as a capture camera on my computer. Camera shuts itself off every 5 minutes. Any way to disable that besides putting a tape in and letting it run?

- Using AC power. Where is the Auto Power Off? There is no mention of it in the manual nor can I find a menu option for it? That really is the question.

- This is what I got from Sony: "We are really sorry, but if you leave the camcorder in the standby mode for 5 minutes while the cassette is inserted, the camcorder will automatically turn off. This is to save battery power and to prevent battery and tape wear. This is normal operation."

We have just tried to start up our old Sony CCD-TRV87 and although it will play back fine, in Record mode it only shows a black screen - kind of like mostly black snow. It will record and play back this "snow". Any ideas?
