When I print color, the page has a lot of extra red on it. How do I keep the color pages clean? It looks like something needs cleaned. Black pages are clean and crisp.

The TekColor Corrections attempt to emulate color devices, such as a Display Screen or a printing press and can be selected from within the print driver on an Apple Macintosh or Microsoft Windows Operating System (OS). Each TekColor correction modifies how the colors are printed. The best TekColor correction to use depends on the job being printed. Determine which color correction would be most helpful. See the Related Items below for additional information. Follow the steps below to select a TekColor correction within the print driver.
From the computer:
For Microsoft Windows 2000 / XP OS:Within an application, click on [File] on the toolbar, and then select [Print] from the menu. The Print window will be displayed.
Click on the [Properties] button. The Properties window will be displayed.
Click on the [TekColor] tab.
Select a TekColor correction.
NOTE: It may be necessary to try all the color corrections to obtain the required results.Click [OK] twice to send the print job to the printer.
For Microsoft Windows 98 / ME OS:Within an application, click on [File] on the toolbar, and then select [Print] from the menu. The Print window will be displayed.
Click on the [Properties] button. The Properties window will be displayed.

From the General pull-down menu, select [TekColor].

From the Apple Macintosh OS X (10.2.x and 10.3.x):Within an application, click on [File] on the toolbar, and then select [Print] from the menu. The Print window will be displayed.
From the Copies and Pages pull-down menu, select [Image Quality].
NOTE: If the Image Quality option is not displayed on the Copies and Pages pull-down menu for OS X, configure the printer with the correct PPD. See the procedure below, if needed.Select a TekColor correction.

To configure the Printer with the correct PPD:
The PPD file contains features a particular printer supports such as TekColor Corrections. In order for the TekColor Corrections and other printer specific features to be available, the correct PPD file must be specified when the printer is installed, or modify the setting following the procedure below.Open the appropriate utility: Print Center (for OS 10.2.x) or the Printer Setup Utility (for OS 10.3.x):
Double-click on the [Hard Drive].
Double-click on the [Applications] folder.
Double-click on the [Utilities] folder.
Double-click on [Print Center] or [Printer Setup Utility].
Select the appropriate printer from the Printer list.
Click on [Printers] on the toolbar, and then select [Show Info] from the menu.
From the Name and Location pull-down menu, select [Printer Model]. The current PPD being used will be displayed.
If the PPD displayed is incorrect (for example; the PPD is set to 'Generic PostScript Printer'), click on the pull-down menu, and select [Xerox].
Select the corresponding PPD for the printer and then click on [Apply Changes].
NOTE: Make sure the correct feature set is selected. For example; if the printer is a Phaser 8400DP, make sure the DP feature set is selected.Close any open windows.
Make sure the Image Quality option is available on the Copies and Pages pull-down menu following the OS X procedure above.
If none of this works, I have seen print head failure cause that exact problem. Lets hope the software clears it up.
