Broken Handle I purchased a Maxim Deep Fryer Model No. DF-518 in August 2007. It has had very little use to date but the handle has broken and will not lift up to drain. It has a 12 month warranty but shop where i bought it will not replace the basket. I live in Tamworth NSW......Malty

That model seems pretty elusive to find a specific handle. That said, I've seen general purpose cookware handles for sale before that might be adaptable to your use, such as this one

OEM deep fryer parts the best selection from Parts Town feature a wide range of OEM parts for a number of brands, and it may be worth dropping them a note - often these are the folks who will know how many other brands that something is identical to other than a name brand (kind of like how only about 3 American companies make clothes dryers).
There are also arrays of commercial fryer baskets for sale at places such as
Fryer Baskets Frying Baskets so, you may be able to contact them as well about either replacing the basket with a proper form factor one, or perhaps about other options.

That should be covered in the user manual, there is very little information available on this product, not even a user manual so its hard to confirm this.

at this time Im unable to give you a solid answer. Remove the lid and try gently. If you have the copy of the user manual, which I was unable to get my hands on, check it out.

Hi All -- I just spoke to a very helpful Maxim/Salton customer representative (1-800-231-9786 is the US #), and the glass door for the Maxim OV-300 is considered a "non-stock" part. This means that it's not in stock, but it is (hopefully ;) possible for the company to order it from their manufacturer in China, though it could "take months." I was able to place an order for the door for $20.90 USD including shipping to Los Angeles. Hopefully if others place orders, they'll really re-make some of these parts! Good luck, Penny

Hi, I cant seem to find one either. I think I would take the parts you have to a stainless steel welder and see if he can reattach the handle. If the handle is missing he may be able to make a new one. Good Luck. kstfas
