MP3 Player reads reformat error Fat16. How do I reformat it?

Plug the mp3 player into the computer
Double-click My Computer
Right-click icon of the mp3 player
Select Format
It will give you a choice usually between FAT and FAT32 - FAT is the same as FAT16 in Windows-speak, so select "FAT"

If you have plugged your mp3 player into a Mac, you are out-of-luck.

My mp3 needs to be reformated and I need to know how to reformat it. Please contact me at [email protected]. Thank you for your help.

To reformat it (assuming you have or have access to a Windows computer) all you must do is plug in the mp3 player to the computer. Go to "My Computer". Right click on your mp3 player and select "Format" or "Reformat". If it asks you what type of partition you should use, choose "FAT32". Most mp3 players use this. If you know for a fact that your mp3 player used a different partition type, choose it. Otherwise, choose FAT32. The computer will do the rest. After reformatting, you may have to download the firmware again. If you can't play songs after reformatting, this is probably why. To get the firmware, try going to the website of the company that manufactures your mp3 player.

MP3 Player problems

I'm not certain what the problem is but it sounds like you might be able to fix it by updating the firmware. I'm guessing that it is an Ilo product. Lenoxx produces Ilo mp3's and you can get information from their site as to how to update. If it isn't there search for firmware and the player name. Good luck.
