Re: 1440*900 resolution is not coming
Your going to love this. Open control panel, open display. Click the settings tab. Click Advanced. Click the Monitor tab. Remove the check mark from "hide modes". Click the drop down menu & set it to 75 hertz. Click Apply & than ok. You are now back to the Settings window. At Screen resolution move the slide bar to more. Pick what you want. Again click Apply & than ok. Bingo there you are! Have a nice day.

The monitor will display out of range message because the PC video resolution is too high for the monitor to display, the new software may have changed or corrupt the video seting, try booting up in safe mode (hit f8 while computer booting up) and set the video resolution to 640 x 480, then reboot in regular mode, then reset the resolution to the native resolution of this monitor which is 1280x1024@60Hz.
that is either resolution problem or animation picture problem your motherboard is with in built dispay card which do not support to high resolution .for that you have to install AGP card into AGP slot then you can see better video .if you want to see low resolution normal computer then restart the computer and press F8 and keep pressed untill options will come then select last good known configuration then enter problem will be solved
Your windows video settings are for a monitor that has more capability (eg more pixels/finer resolution, higher refresh rate, more colour bits than the current screen can handle so it's spit the dummy.
Run your computer in safe mode (I believe that uses basic video driver) and set the video display options to a very low level, then re-start your computer again in normal mode, and set the options to the native resolution, refresh rate etc of the monitor. These should be listed in the specs that would come in the box with it (may be resolution: 1,680x1,050)
I found the solution for my problem. Initially I thought it's a monitor problem and was trying to find the drivers for it. The problems is not with my monitor but with the video adapter I use.
My video adapter has a intel chipset (Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family). Apparently the driver that I was using was quite old.
The only thing I had to do is: 1. Download the latest video adapter driver 2. Uninstall the current video adapter driver 3. Restart the system (Windows XP) 4. Install the new driver. 5. Restart the system.
It sounds like the computer is trying to use a resolution that the monitor cannot handle. Boot into safe mode by pressing the f8 key during boot up and select safe mode. Once booted, right click on the desktop and select properties. In settings lower the resolution by moving the bar to the left and reboot.
I would move it all the way down, you can then move it up a step at a time once you are in normal mode again.
If you have the origional CD that came with the monitor, use that to re-install the drivers for the monitor back onto the pc. Then go to viewsonic and look for updates. Do a "system restore" and put the system back to the condition prior to doing all of this. I will re store your files to what they were but "system restore" will not roll back "windows updates". This will tell you if it is something you did or windows did.
To turn off the reminder, use the buttons on the front of the monitor to do the following:-
Use down arrow to highlight Setup Menu and press #2.
Use down arrow to highlight Resolution Notice and press #2.
Select Disable and Exit.
