Question about Altec Lansing MX5021 Computer Speakers

1 Answer

Computer won't read audio unit.

The speakers worked fine until I rebooted by computer back to its factory settings. Now the speakers dont play anything, and when I checked in my control panel, it said there was no audio device... I have tried re-plugging in the wires, however that has not fixed my problem.

I do not know if I have the motherboard CD, or for that matter what the motherboard CD would look like. If it simply requires intalling a driver, could I not just find a driver online?

Still there is no problem to your speakers... it's the Sound Driver is missing for Windows to activate the audio part of the motherboard... If you have the motherboard CD.... System properties and install the driver in order to restore that missing file...

Good luck.. Hoping this Fixya the problem... post me back if you have other inquiry... Just don't forget to rate us...

My sound won' t work on motherboard could it be that my onboard audio Is burned out... Kind Regards

i dont think it has burnt out
if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it:
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound, video and game controllers you might see a yellow question mark? Right click to reinstall drivers
click start control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers make sure you have selected the
(((appropriate speakers))) also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settings there
also
click start control panel sounds and audio devices select advanced there might be a tick in the mute box untick it
click start control panel sounds and audio devices you can adjust the volume there also select speaker volume you can change your settings there you can also tick in the box place icon in taskbar
if his does not fix the problem

click start control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or navigate to the device manager scroll to system devices + to expand, system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable) also you might check
the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good
try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the sound card and the CPU central processing unit dust causes static to build up in a computer hope this helps

No sound from Creative Labs Speakers- Please help

to localised your problem, try to plug your speakers to other sound source like mp3 player ,stereo system. if still no sound coming from it,your problem is within the speaker system. perhaps the audio power amplifier ic inside, need to be replaced.

DVD Player does not work

General Problems
Player won’t work (locks up)
• Try unplugging the AC power cord and plugging it back in.
• Reset the DVD/VCR: on the front of the unit, press and hold the STANDBY/ON button while you press and hold the STOP button—wait at least 3 seconds
before you release both of the buttons. You’ll need to set up your menu preferences because this Reset Procedure returns the DVD/VCR’s menus to the
factory default settings and also erases the contents of the Disc Library.

No voice sound through speaker with DVD system, only music?

first check the settings on the audio menu of the dvd player. make sur it is set to 5.1 (if available) otherwise set it to stereo and your system should decode it.
assuming the second step is okay : as other dvd you play seem to work) it still may be that your unit is decoding stereo inputs just fine and 5.1 is not working properly....
so if adjusting audio settings in dvd play back menu dont work,
check that the cables to the satellite speakers are connected correctly and all plugged in soundly ( voice is high frequency,- coming from satellites - the garbled noises you hear are the base ( low freq) elements of voice which are coming from the bass box ( that the X.1 part of 5.1) and so that is obviously working. ,

No sound

make sure that the speaker cables colored plug match that of what is on the back of the computer, also make sure that the volume control console is set for the correct output. Lastly, if none of these work, try uninstalling the audio device by right clicking my computer, select properties, go to hardware, and click device manager and thenright click the audio device and click uninstall, then reboot, and follow the instructions that come up when the computer reboots, and see if that works.

I only hear sound out of two speakers........

Have you set the computer up for 4.1 speakers in the audio software? Go to start control panel and click on sound's speech and audio device's, then click on sound's and audio device's. A window should pop up with a load of menus at the top, click on the one that says volume. Where it says speaker settings click on the advanced button. Click on the menus until the picture lookslike your system you have.
