Question about Cyberhome DVD Recorder - DVR1600
Says no disc whene i try to record or play
Try cleaning the lens first with a q-tip and some rubbing alcohol. However it's most likely the power supply has failed. Look at the board where the power cord connects to and look for any capacitors that have domed tops. Replacing the two 10V 2200uF caps with 35V 2200uFs worked for mine. I moved the two large diodes over (they had extra solder pads) to get them to fit nicely. I'd also recommend replacing the 220V 0.1uF capacitor with a slighly higher rated one if you can source it. I didn't but I don't trust that one, it has a slight audible whine even after the replacement of the other two caps.
