Question about Sub-Zero 632 / S

1 Answer

Sub zero constant running, vacuum condenser

Ok so I have read and all I have found out is my fridge sucks.  I have 632 and I have vacuumed condenser and air compressed it out and wiped the inside spotless the fan the arms the entire compartment is clean. now it runs for hours on end. So the trick, if I turn it off and turn it on it stays off for a hour or so then it comes back on and runs for hours again. If it runs all day while I am at work it will say vacuum condenser, in which I will turn it off and on again. So does this mean I need a new condenser every 3 years because it is a piece of junk? Is there a switch that is not working that tells the compressor that the fridge is hot and it is really cold. I don't thinks so because the fridge stays at 34 and the freezer at 5 unless I leave it off for a hour then it might go up to 37.

I have a sub 650 and it's doing the same thing after I vacuumed and cleaned the coil.  Is the thermostat an easy part to change out if this is the problem?

Had the exact same problem. In 2006 had the evaporator/dryer unit replaced. No vacuum condensor light until last week. Now have the same issue, having it serviced on Wednesday. This is frustrating!!! However, customer service at subzero has been excellent!!!

How do i shut off and reset sub=zero 690 fridge?

Its not necessary when "Vacuum Condenser" light is blinking means That condenser is dirty. That light will come on if compressor running too long. Most common problem is that Evaporator coil in fresh food section is leaking freon. It still might keep temps ok, but compressor need to run much more to keep temperature you set. check back wall in fresh food section on left side at the middle, behind drawers. if you see moisture in one spot or a little bit of ice build up, then You will need to call people who can replace evaporator. It is pretty expensive fix. I made video how it looks to repair this problem. Thanks.

Vacuum condenser flashes on and off, freezer side has warmed up But the freezer fan is still running to circulate the air.

It is telling you that you need to vacuum the condenser coil. if this fails to cure the warming problem then you my need a new condenser. compressors have also been know to cause this.

Subzero 680 - vacuum condensor message won't go away.

You can reset it by turning the unit on and off or if you have a door alarm button hold that for 30 seconds and that should clear the fault code.

Refrigerator side of side-by-side model 632 not cooling below 50 degrees and message display reads "vacuum condenser" but I have been vacuuming the condenser to no effect.

I'm sorry we must have got disconnected somehow, like I said the problem is going to be with the defrost system or the evaporator motor from the limited information you gave me...hope your problem was resolved. Thanks! Mike

Look on your sub zero for more model numbers. I have found some information indicating that the refrigerator thermostat may be the problem but need those numbers to confirm. Thanks, Sea Breeze
