Question about Cuisinart DLC-2014 PowerPrep Plus Food Processor

Food processor circuit board fried ?

A few weeks ago, there was a thunderstorm, a lightning strike nearby and since then, the Cuisinart refused to work. A tinkerer that I am, I took it apart and found the telltale signs of burning on the underside of the circuit board, near an empty slot with FUSE printed next to it. Thinking that there must have been a fuse there that I missed seeing when I took it apart, I soldered a piece of wire between the vacant terminals. No good. I popped the circuit breaker but the blender refused to work. Measured the resistance between those terminals - about 56 ohms - can't see why I popped the breaker. But anyhow - unless one of you can come up with a simple solution, I'm left with having to find a new circuit board. Any ideas where I can get one ??

Thanks guys. I'm not ready to give up yet (after all, it was a $400 item). Any chance I can get a circuit diagram for this unit ? And can you tell me a good source of small electrical/electronic components ? (Radio Shack or mail order ?)

SOME TECHNICAL
DATA
The motor in your food
processor operates on
standard line operating
current. The appropriate
voltage and frequency for
your machine are shown
on a label under the base.
An automatic, temperaturecontrolled
circuit breaker
in the motor ensures
complete protection against
motor burnout. If the
processor runs for an
exceptionally long time
when chopping, mixing or
kneading a thick or heavy
mixture in successive
batches, the motor may
overheat. If this happens,
the processor will stop.
Turn it off and wait for
the motor to cool before
proceeding. It will usually
cool within 10 minutes. In
extreme cases, it could
take an hour.
Safety switches prevent
the machine from operating
when the work bowl or the
cover is not locked into
position. The motor stops
within seconds when the
motor is turned off, and a
fast-stop circuit stops it
instantly when the pusher
assembly is removed.
Cuisinart® Premier™
Series offers a Three Year
Limited Warranty on the
Entire Machine.

Sir,
It's no use when a lighting gets in the circuit... it fries everything... board replacement is a good option but where to get it is the most difficult part... Try a junk shop, or the repair shop, or to a neighbor, or the stores, they might have a board just like yours, damaged item but not the board... I hope this helps.

Fixya me on this .... Goodluck...

The chances of finding new circuit board are slim if none at all they dont sell circuit boards for these just the replacable parts that can be resoldered to the board itself so im sure they dont sell the boards and i have never seen any boards for sale in all the years i have worked on electronic boards.
The only way you could come across whole board is by buying one that has a different problem you might get one of auction site but is it worth it when you might be not sure what is wrong with the one you buy.
If the whole board is up the shoot then the only thing to do is buy new one sorry couldnt offer anymore help but they dont sell the boards the only sell the spare parts i have tryed this route before with small electronics and they just dont do them.
Unlesss im wrong if i am let me know try using search engine and type in :circuit board for "then give make and model here"
Im sure they dont but you never know you might be lucky would love to know

Hi use ask.com and type in schematics for "then give make and model "this should then list a few websites that have the schematics as for parts do the same try parts for then give make and model this will list possible places also if its just certain components your after then these should be easy to source use the schematics to get part number then you should be able to cross referance this for compatible parts to order this is often the cheapest option as buying original parts can bump the price up a bit ok let me know how you get on ok

My Cuisinart food processor won't start!

Make sure work bowl handle is locked in so that the handle is facing the front of the processor, and that the feed tube and metal rod of the pusher are facing the back of the processor. If it is assembled in this way and still won't turn on, call Cuisinart for assistance, as you may have concelaed damage to one of the work bowl parts. 1-800-726-0190

Need circuit board for DLC 8-PLUS

Rather than replace the circuit board, you might consider going on Ebay and just buy a used replacement base. I got one a few months ago on Ebay at a fraction of the cost of buying a new food processor. Cuisinart parts are popular on Ebay.

The Blender attachment will not turn, just grinds and smokes.

The motor shaft that spins the teeth that are on the base of the blender may be frozen up for some reason. If you purchased the duet within the last 3 years and have a receipt, call Cuisinart to get it repaired in warranty - even if you don't have a receipt, your serial number may still save you. If you purchased it more than 3 years ago, let me know.

Need a instruction book or manual for cuisinart 7 cup food proces

All manuals for models made in last few years are on Cuisinart website.

Removing a Cuisinart Food Processor Work Bowl
You have to remove the pusher first by twisting it off. Then press the sides of the pusher sleeve inward and slide the sleeve up and out of place. Then twist off the lid - all twisting on these food processors works either clockwise or counterlcokwise - not both. Then twist the work bowl to the left (clockwise). Voila!

Cuisinart DLC- 8M

Those older Cuisinart food processors have motors that generally last forever. But a replacement bowl can cost $118.00 or more. The newer processors like the DLC-8S do have a 3-year general warranty and a 5-year motor warranty. The new DLC-2011, 2007, 2014 series etc. have 10-year motor warranties. I like the collect the oldies, but the new ones have few problems even though they are made in China. If an old processor's plastic breaks, you have to buy a completely new bowl set - if a new processor's plastic breaks, then you can buy a single component piece to solve the problem. Hope this helps.

It just stopped working

Remove the work bowl from the base of the food processor, and separate the bowl, lid, and pusher sleeve.
Plug the base into the wall outlet, turn the food processor ON, and then use a pen to press in the dark grey or black button on top of the base of the food processor - if you hear some kind of noise, then your motor is still good.
Put the work bowl on first, with the handle facing the front of the food processor.
Put the lid on, with the hollow feed tube facing the back of the processor.
Put the pusher sleeve in the lid, with the sliding lock switch facing the front of the processor.
Your processor should now turn on.

If your food processor still does not turn on, call Cuisinart and see if you are eligible for an in-warranty repair - it has a 3-year warranty.

Good luck!

Food Processor assembly

Hi Janne,

I bought a DCL 8M about 20 years ago and still have the original manual. Mashing potatoes is one of the few tasks that the manual discouraged. The potatoes turn into glue. I tried mashing potatoes with the flat blade and extra liquid. It still tasted awful. I do puree potato soup in batches, First I mash all the solids (potatoes and leek or potato and tomatoes), then add the liquid. For some reason, pureeing the soup works well.

I am sorry I could not be more helpful.
