Hiya's, changing the driver won't help if you cannot get into windows. What is happening is that the onboard chipset has died (overclocking kills em nicely).

You can try adding a video card to the system, tho I suspect that will also be no different, as the board will refuse to post.

Seen too many of these boards doing this, thank god we stopped selling them.

Good luck

I get no signal on my lcd when I start my m8000 hp pc desktop

There is no communication to the video card. Try checking cable. Reconnect. Make sure monitor is set to correct input, like VGA, DVI, or HDMI. Reseat the video card, and if still nothing, test with another video card.

Try re-seating the video card.
Check the video cable is plugged in tightly on the video card and monitor.
The video cable maybe faulty, try a different video cable.
The monitor maybe faulty, try a different monitor.

My emx-mcp61p-avl has power but no display no beep. video card is new and compatible with my motherboard. RAM is new also.

Just because the ram and video card is new does not mean they work. But since you say it has power, I'm assuming it boots up all the way except the screen is not displaying.

If this is a laptop try the steps below.

Shine a flashlight on the dark screen to see if you barely see the icons on the desktop. If so, then the LCD Inverter is bad.

Plug in an external monitor and see if the display shows up on it. It can be any kind of monitor even the old big fat crt monitors as long as it has a vga cable to connect to your computer's vga port. If so that proves your video card is ok. The video will show on most systems when you reboot without you having to do anything. Some systems will require you to hit the FN (Function key) + F1 thru F12. Hold down the FN key then hit the correct key for displaying on the monitor (F1 thru F12). The correct key will normally have CRT/LCD on it or it will have the icon of a display.

If you see no icons by shinning a flash light and the external monitor works, then your screen is bad. If you see no icons by shinning the flash light and nothing shows on the external monitor, then most likely your video card is bad.

If it is a desktop try the steps below.

Try connecting another monitor to the computer. Borrow a monitor from a neighbor, friend, relative or co-worker and connect it to the computer. If the Borrowed monitor shows the display, then your original monitor is bad. If the Borrowed monitor does and same as your original monitor and does not show a display then your video card has an issue.

Have emachines W2060. Can't get screen to show

Hi Joe,

Could be one of several things:

1) Monitor cable connection loose.
2) Video card (if you have one) not seated, or bad.
3) RAM module not seated, bad, or wrong kind. (If you have not messed with the RAM, probably not one of these.)
4) If your video is integrated into the motherboard (no video card) your motherboard may be bad. Installing a separate card could correct this.
5) Bad monitor.

Have you made any changes to your system when this happened?

Try to connect another monitor/cable to your computer and try your monitor on a friend's computer to see if it works.

Comment back with any updates.

Thanks for using Fixya.

HP motherboard dangling sounds when powered on

f you switched monitors already, your graphics card is probably the problem. I would suggest to temporarily switch this graphics card with another one. Maybe you can do that yousef, or know someone who can. Do nt try this without knowing what you're doing, it could damage your graphics card.
If you have done this, or are unable too, please post here what happened.

If the results you get with the other graphics card are:
1. You do get signal, but it is very low resolution. This is what is supposed to happen. It means you do get a good signal, the video drivers for that card just aren't installed yet. I'm afraid your graphics card is broken, and that you're going to need a new one.
2. You still don't get signal. This could be two things. Either your VGA cable is broken, or your motherboard is broken. I would suggest trying another ble. If that still doesn't work, you will have to purchase another motherboard.

I hope this helps,

The possible reason why there's no signal on the mobo are, first of all it can be a problem with the video card and since you already tried replacing the video card and still no sigal so it means not the video card problem, you can also try to connect a different monitor if possible to check if its not a problem with the monitor and also a bad motherboard will cause this since the video card is connected to it and so if you already try a different monitor and still the same problem motherboard is the one that is bad....
