  • poor connections, remove grease from the terminals, apply vaseline if you must but definately not copper ease or anything like that. Check connection security on starter motor too.
  • high resistance in starter motor, get the starter motor checked or replaced

Sorry to say but i would take that battery back and get another. to have a sluggish start, is indicative a collapsed cell inside the battery. now new or not electrical items fail i the blink of an eye. ive had new ones right off the shelf...BAD!

Why is my battery light on in my 99 F250 super Duty 5.4 and it flashes once it goes to change gears at high rpm?

The cheapest, easiest thing to check would be the alternator belt tension, since it was just replaced recently and may have stretched. After that I have no clue.

Reset battery light

Maybe the alternator is draining the battery. Have the alternator tested

Sluggish & electrical problems after new alternator & battery put in

Sounds like the new alternator is not charging the battery. Once the battery drops below a certain level the car can't keep its components (on board computer) running. The ignition is now running off the battery which is fading. Soon the car won't be running at all.

As already suggested, check belt and new alternator.

6 weeks ago, my car 2002 civic would not start. It made this really weird clicking noise..A guy jumped me and then all of a sudden it worked fine. He said the posts needed to be cleaned though, so I had...

the clicking noise was due to the bad battery. the starter solinoid was not getting enough power to turn it over. try this if possible, engine off at battery should be at least 12.6 volts. start the car and if alternator is ok, it should read 14.2 to 14.7. if not repair alternator. what happens, is the voltage regulator in alt. goes bad and will not supply enough current to battery. good-day !

I have a Honda Accord 2004 Ex 4cylinder. It was sluggish to start so we took the battery to get it tested and they said it was bad. We got a new one and the battery light stayed on when we put the battery...

sounds like a starter problem. You need to have an experienced mechanic evaluate your car. You may have an electrical problem that is depriving battery power to the starter. Or it simply may be a bad starter. Once again you need to have a mechanic who is knowledgable with electrical diagnosis evaluate your cars system. hope this helps.

Car won't start even after new battery purchase

Alternator problem, the alternator charges the battery when car is running, so it has probably died now. Was working at reduced capacity for a while, which is why you were only getting a partial charge for some time. Now you have an open circuit completely as alternator has failed completely, time for a visit to an auto electrician. PS replacing acid in battery with distilled water is not a good idea. It probably was time for a new battery anyway.
