Question about Computers & Internet

Deleting all the extra software that came preloaded in my pc.

I bought an acer desktop from The Source preloaded with Vista and a whole bunch of other stuff that i don't want. My hard disk already had 2 partitions. I did not recieve a Windows Vista installation cd. All I want is to install Vista by itself and I will install all of the other necessary software.

Is it possible to somehow burn an installation cd? If so can you direct me where to go to find the necessary instructions. If not, Is it possible to upgrade from Vista Basic to the next level for a fraction of the full purchace price. ( and get an installation disk for that upgraded version?)

I'm not sure if it's Vista or my motherboard, but there seems to be a limit on how much ram can be utilized. I have 5 gigs in 3 slots, (2+2+1) but my system says I only have three thousand three hundred and something mb of ram. What's the deal?

Your options are either go to Acer for a replacement Vista recovery DVD or
Install a borrowed Vista DVD, must be same Vista Basic, Home Premium,
then use your registered CD key, normally located on the side or rear of your tower.
It will also tell which Vista type you have. You then must go to the Acer support site
and install then drivers for the componenets in you computer.
You will not have any other software installed that may have come with your
original setup from Acer. This option requires more work on your part, but
no cost to you. Acer will charge for a Recovery DVD, plus S&H.

Picture does not fill Screen

It is displays fine up unto the point where Vista loads, then it must only happen when Vista loads the display driver. I would go with your initial assumption and reinstall the display driver.
