I have reinstalled SW to see if that will work w/ no luck. I connect the Zune it shows connected on the device but when I try to sync on the player the sync button is not active.

I have the same problem.

my mp3 player is getting detected in my computer but i am not able to synchronise songs from my computer to the mp3 player

My computer had a virus i fixedmy laptop & reinstalled zune sw. But now i plug up my zune and it beeps three times, charges and the sw will not recognize the zune.

I saw on another site that if you simply turn "on" Windows Firewall, and then start the Zune program, and then plug in your Zune, it will sync. I tried this and it worked!!

i have had this problem and i looked on the zune official web page and it has a support page. You need to restart your zune. u press and hold the play/pause button and the back button at the same time. it wont make u loose any songs or other downloads. if it doesnt work for you please visit http://www.zune.com/support.

I don't have it hooked up to a USB port on the back of your PC, try that. In any case, try hooking up to a different USB port.

For my Zune 2, I just need to 'reset' the Zune device (not the software). It takes all about 10 seconds and causes no data loss. Just hold the back button (with the arrow) and the up-button on the squircle at the same time and hold for like 10 seconds. You'll see your Zune device restart and that'll tidy up most problems.
