Question about Microsoft ZUNE JS8BRPBDLUG MP3 Player
I have reinstalled SW to see if that will work w/ no luck. I connect the Zune it shows connected on the device but when I try to sync on the player the sync button is not active.
Okay... what you do is Hold your zune in you right hand.. open the toilet bowl with your left.. put the zune in the toilet... and then flush it... or if you have not gotten a zune... just throw the $200+ in the toilet instead.. Because i have the same exact problem as these guys and none of their solutions have worked..

For my Zune 2, I just need to 'reset' the Zune device (not the software). It takes all about 10 seconds and causes no data loss. Just hold the back button (with the arrow) and the up-button on the squircle at the same time and hold for like 10 seconds. You'll see your Zune device restart and that'll tidy up most problems.

I have had this problem and i looked on the zune official web page and it has a support page. You need to restart your zune. u press and hold the play/pause button and the back button at the same time. it wont make u loose any songs or other downloads. if it doesnt work for you please visit http://www.zune.com/support.

I saw on another site that if you simply turn "on" Windows Firewall, and then start the Zune program, and then plug in your Zune, it will sync. I tried this and it worked!!

Try the Zune on a different PC. If that also fails, there is an issue with your motherboard (could be your dock connector or an electronic problem). There are third party Zune repair services, that will fix it for cheap. Even better, I found an DYI Zune repair guide,so you can do it yourself too, not that difficult. Part is available onEbay. If you can't do it yourself, have a tech savy friend do it for you. If it does work on a different PC, then the issue lies within your windows. If you re-install your PC to factory and then re-install fresh zune software it should work.

I don't have it hooked up to a USB port on the back of your PC, try that. In any case, try hooking up to a different USB port.

Just had this problem! Make sure that your player is on the main menu. THEN you connect your zune with a different USB port, I used the one that my printer is normally connected to.

I figured out the solution by just getting upset.
Hold the Back arrow (<-) and Up on the touch pad and it will restart the Zune. This works for the 8gig and 80gig Zune.

There is a way and none of your solutions work. There is a software you can download and use as a Hack but the problem is that is does not work with Windows XP/Vista/7...Windows Media Player does not recognize the Zune as a devioce or a player, just like Windows will not recognize it as a storage drive in Windows Explorer. You would figure with Zune being a Microsoft Product, that it would work well with other MS products but they screwed up somewhere and did not get the memo that Zune is a MS product
