Hey there cyclonesid, capacitors look like little batteries, and have a shiny flat top with perforation lines on it. If the capacitor is going or gone, this flat top begins to peak and sometimes show points of corrosion. jpe is associated with thermal fuses which are used to protect devices from excessive ambient temperatures. These are not expensive and relatively easy to replace (if required) by a professional. I hope this helps. Good Luck!

Hey there cyclonesid, that is where I would guess you problem is located. The deal is however that these things are there to protect your machine. If they go , it is either a sign of a bad fuse or capacitor, but also likely a sign of a deeper problem which may be dying motor. I suggest you get the capacitor replaced and the thermal fuse (black vibrating thing) checked, and ask technician to check other elements in immediate area. Good Luck!

Defect power ic board. Take the thing back to the shop for exchange or refund. No receipt or out of warranty? Chalk it up as a loss and purchase a new one.

Cheers

Loud noise when trying to set to record or to play the noise is like loud static and I have to turn off both the TV and the DVD player to get it to stop the noise  I suspect it is the control

When you hear the static, turn power off and then back on again and it will go away. Some players have been know to do that. It is a problem with the programming. Just turn power off and right back on again and it should be fine.

Dvd makes strong playing sound. normal?

From the info you have given, your player is probably running a few degrees hotter than usual. This causes the fan to spin at a faster than usual speed causing that noise. It can happen if you keep your player in an enclosed space blocking the heat vents from dispersing the heat. Make sure that you place it in a location where it can disperse heat more easily. This will hopefully resolve the issue.

LG DVD recorder (super)

Mine did to, it was the fan at the back of the recorder. I fixed it by inserting a cardboard spacer between the fan & the case.

After Recording

Unit sounds like it has a small cooling fan at the rear. A bad fan bearing will produce a noise when dried-out. Replace the cooling fan.
