Question about Dishwashers
Struggling to fix a Frigidaire dishwasher FDR252RBS2 without spending a fortune (which I don't have). Wasn't draining at beginning of cycle. Drain tube is clear thru to drain (no disposall). The motor was turning in both directions, but no water drained. I opened assembly on top of motor and found that the plastic shaft that transmits torque thru the floor from the motor to the impellers was broken. Couldn't find a number for that part (the uppermost plastic part on no.18 on the Parts Catalog 5995434445 at http://www.frigidaire.com/products/resultspage.asp?strmodel=FDR252RB) or how to buy it online, but had to buy the whole Welling motor assembly. When I put in the new motor, I had the same problem. What else could it be? Thx greatly. :Dani

Try cleaning out the drain line behind the dishwasher, this is a very common problem with draining. If not that then might need a valve or if you have a new garbage disposal you need to punch out a peice of the plastic or it wont drain. Hope this helped, good luck

I have the same problem and after talking to a local service center and doing some online research (remember: Google is your friend) I have discovered this is considered a non-serviceable part and you must buy the entire motor. The impeller comes with the motor. This is probably not the answer you were hoping but is what you have to do. With that said, I plan to JB Weld the ****** back on the motor shaft!

Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. First make sure that the drain is not clogged and remove clogs if present. If no visible lint is present then remove the lower front access panel to check the drain filter and drain pump for any clogs, you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump completely. Also, check for any food pieces stuck near the pump impeller & clean the chopper assembly. Please note that dishwashers don't drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn't overheat. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.
