Question about Dynex DX-E401 Router
I am connecting 2 computers thru the router using dsl. they seem to work find for 2 or 3 hours, then i lose the internet connection. this happens every time i hook it up. does this router have a built in timer limiting the time it is used on a network?
If you know how to get into your router's setup go into wan settings and change the MTU size to 1492 instead of 1500. I had the same problem and that solved it for me. Good luck.

Are you pushing a lot of data through the router for the few hours when it works? I've run into this with some routers where the router will just hang because I'm trying to push too much data through it and it's little CPU gets overwhelmed. Also make sure it's not overheating...that does the same thing.
To answer your question, routers do not have any built-in timer (at none that I have seen).
