Question about Philips LX3000D System

1 Answer

Phillips LX3000D Hello, My Phillips LX3000D home theatre system recently started to give me issues in two areas: 1 - Currently there is no audio. Like others have complained on this site, when I turn on my audio, it normally takes a few minutes before the sound actually turns on. But recently there hasn't been sound at all. I've checked the wires and everything is hooked up correctly. 2 - When I play a dvd it seems like after 10 min of watching the movie, the dvd starts to play in slow motion and the movie skips. This has been going on for a couple of years but now it happens with EVERY dvd. I've checked the dvds and they are not scratched and some are even brand new! Before I invest a few hundred dollars on a new one, is there anything I can do to salvage this unit? I would appreciate your help. Thanks, Andrea

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Most common problem I have run into recently is that there are a lot of home theatre and tv units that don't support Dolby 5.1 plus, 5.1 works fine but most of the show on netflix are using 5.1 plus now.
easy fix for now, when you start a show on Netflix go down with the arrow button and set the audio to (stereo). I currently have that problem as my home theatre supports Dolby 5.1 but not 5.1 plus.
I'll be checking the Spec's on my next home theatre receiver to see if it supports 5.1 plus.

hope that helps, good luck

How do i connect my pc to my phillips home theatre system through an hdmi cable

The best way is to connect your laptop to a spare HDMI input on your TV first, then use the AUX OUT from your TV to the AUX IN1 of the Phillips Home theatre system using a standard RCA cable.
The only catch with this is that you will have stereo analog audio, NOT digital surround. However, by pressing the "SURROUND" button of your Phillips HTS remote you can switch the audio output to multi-channel surround, stereo or party mode.
What is the model number of the TV you are using?

I am having 21 inch onida black 200 tv .I have recently bought philips home theatre. please let me know how to turn off internal speakers of onida tv and how to turn on external speakers to send audio...

By the looks of it, the only output you can use from the tv will be using the 2.5mm jack plug headphone socket, get a cable to convert this into twin phone (red/white) for stereo sound to your amplifier. (they are very cheap £2 or so) The Home theatre system should be able to give you a psuedo surround but you wont get full surround.

How to get my ps3 sound though my home cimima system

these days on home theatre systems, you find that 90% of the functions are only available using the remote.
I know that on my Phillips receiver I can only access HDMI and Optical inputs by using the remote.
hopefully this helps.

No sound from plasma to home theatre

First off it's always best to start from scratch when it comes to home audio. LoL. Many times I've been in this situation.
So with everything disconnected. You should have your HDMI, COMPONENT, RCA(R,W,Y)
HDMI and COMPONENT are the exact same thing and in all preference COMPONENT is far better thand HDMI for the pure fact that each wire is in it's own casing and insualted to avoid feedback from the other wires.
Anyways, with everything disconnected we begin
From you Cable/satellite box- Run your HDMI cable from you cable box to your HDMI 1 input on your tv.(If your speakers were to work on your tv you would automaticaly get sound and picture)
That should be all that you should be running from you cable box. Now that we have one thing running we go to the next thing.
From your TV run your audio out (RCA Red/White) to your amp. Usually your preference but more than likely your TV IN on your amp.
With your amp now set on TV, you should automatically get sound from your tv. and if your running an HD cable box even though your only running RED/WHITE to your amp, you will still be receiving Digital sound.
Most new amps Should have a digital input and if your running and 1080iUp this one RCA plugin will give you dolby digital sound from your dvd player to your amp. Then running a video rca up to your tv, will give you the picture, while the digital out on your dvd player to your amp will give you dolby digital sound.

It's a basic simple step to get sound. Like a continuing current. So just as long as you have your cable to -- tv -- home theatre. Everything should work. Otherwise I would go and check your cables and make sure they are not faulty.
I hope this confusing walkthrough helps.

Sound Problem

Hi all
I also had this problem. I fixed it by tracing the fault to a dry joint on Z401, a zener diode responsible for the -7v to IC405/6.

There are 4 zener diodes (Z401 - 4) that should have between 6 and 7 v across them. They're visible from the top side of the main PCB.

There's an excellent Service manual available from here. www.eserviceinfo.com

I'm listening to my LX3000d right now with a smile on my face.

Cheers
Allan
