Sounds like the outer tub has a hole in it. Some of the newer models had a problem with the inner tub (basket) would rub a hole in the outer tub about 2/3 the way up.

Whirlpool top load washer is running across the floor. I've replaced all springs. I've also made it 100% level. What's the next step?

The following images identify an invention that most newer machines included, The ring about half filled with water automatically balances the basket of the washers. If the water has leaked out or the ring has failed the machine will not achieve balance. The ring is replaceable by qualified DIY.

Most units only have the ring on the top of the basket, but some as the bottom image shows have two.

Hope this helps?

Thin twin washer basket is VERY off balance and once a cycle runs, there is water filling up under the washer / spin basket.

You should be able to put it in spin and remove the water. if it don't you have a problem somewhere. There should be 3 springs hooked to the bottom of the tub to hold it on center if one breaks or comes loose it will be off balance. If you get water in the tub when not useing it and the water is on from the water line the water valve is leaking. If the water don't shut off when filling the water level switch could be bad.or the tube running to it could be stopped up pull the hose off the water level switch and blow through it if it bubbles in the tub it is ok. If can't blow through it it is stopped up.Hope this helps

Whirlpool utlra care II clothes washer shuts off when filling - push knob in and pull out it starts again - once full it completes remaings cycles

Hi, the water-level switch regulates your washer's fill volume. This switch is usually a diaphragm device with a small, clear tube attached between the switch and the bottom of the washer's outer tub. As the water level in the tub increases, the pressure on the air in the tube increases. When the pressure reaches a certain level, it activates the switch, shuts off the water, and signals the timer to begin the agitate cycle. If the switch is defective, it may prematurely signal the water to shut off. If so, you probably need to replace the water-level switch.

Tub overfills, plastic tube had been cut. I splice tube with slightly bigger tube. Does the plastic tube have to be a certain length?

As the tub fills with water, the water level switch detects the pressure of the air trapped in the tube. When the pressure reaches a certain point, it turns off the water and starts the wash cycle. As long as the tube that connects to the water level switch does not leak any air, it should be fine.

My washer will not drain. At first it was giving the normal error messages like LF, so we had the drain piped to see if it was clogged. Now the washer fills up and does not drain. I have a Whirlpool...

Hi,

Thanks for using FixYa. Error LF means long fill, which flashes when the water level won’t change for a period of time after the valves are turned on or the water has disengaged the basket but control does not detect a water level change. TO resolve this issue check if the water supply is turned on and the hose screens are not plugged or kinked. If the water is not entering the machine then check the water valve, also check the pressure hose connection to the machine/motor control. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

Water leaks from the basket of my top loading whirlpool washer. I've watched the water level go down as the water has filled into the tub.

Remove the back cover. Inspect the basket for any leakages by filling the water in the basket. If located weld it or seal it with ARALDITE adhesive. Also check the outlet valve at the base of the basket.ensure that outlet valve is seated properly. This should be able to fix the problem, if not then you have to call service engineer to heck the functioning of control panel.

Water level problems. Water will not properly fill in the basket. Water continues to drain out before proper level is attained.

Your drain line is too low or has no air gap causing it to siphon water. Raise the drain line. Do not use a rag or duct tape to keep it in the drain hole.

Maytag washer is leaking water. Looks as though

Check the water level switch. This is a diaphragm-like device with a small plastic tube attached between the switch and the bottom of the washer's outer tub. As the water level increases, so does the pressure on the air in the plastic tube and when it reaches a certain level, it activates the switch to turn off the water and signals the timer to start the appropriate cycle. Look for any obstructions in or damage to the plastic tube. The switch can be tested using a multimeter or ohmmeter. Check for continuity. A lack of continuity indicates a bad switch. Sorry for your trouble and I sure hope this helped. Best wishes.

Whirpool Duet won't spin clothes at high speed

Thinking of 2 things either the transmission is out or the clutch is burnt out and the drum basket and possibly the drive shaft broken as well. Prices vary greatly by how many of these things are broken but should run between 100-200 including labor.
