DVD player not working, only used a few times AKAI lct32z4adp 32"lcd tv with built-in dvd player

This may be an instance were the idea was great but the execution wasn't thought out. I've heard of several related problems that may be related. Both the TV and the DVD player tend to produce heat, not in great abundance, but together a sizable amount of heat. The power supply may have been ample for the TV at first but with the addition of the DVD player was not able to handle the extra load. If still under warranty you're all set. If not you might call Akai and see what they might be able to do for you.

Most likely your laser pickup is weak, which will need to be replaced. It's an almost impossible task of locating on on sets with the DVD built in. I would recommend trying WWW.ShopJimmy.com for availability. I hope this helps.

i'm trying to hook up a dvd player to my lcd tv.i can play a movie through the tv but i cant record tv on to the dvd player.i only have antenna tv can you please solve this problem for me.

I had the same problem witht he same tv that was given to me! I just took off the cover to the DVD player and unpluged all the connectors to it and then the TV worked. Now you will not be able to use the DVD player but you can hook one up externally

My TV has good DVD player , but no video. I will sell you mine for parts or I will buy yours for parts.

Locate audio output ic and trace to dvd unit. Look for open circuit. possible dvd audio out chip bad.

The power supply most likely failed on your LCD.
How old is your LCD?

I have an 32 inch Akai TV/DVD Combo; the TV turns off by itself about every 20-30 min, and when I put in DVD to play, the TV cuts off.

probably either the tv or the DVD are in the PAL system check if they are, if yes then change to NTSC.if that does not work then you check your connections.if not you will have to call in a tech to look at your set.good luck.
