For some reason, I didn't get a home charger for my Tomtom One 130 when I got it for Christmas. Will my Motorolla phone charger work? Also, I cannot understand the diagram for installing it to the windshield. It is really Greek to me. There is a 1600TG PE foam part # 5S00.009 and also a wierd disc that has a suction-type pull (off ? ? ) thing on the back. How does Tom Tom expect us to understand the picture at all? I am totally baffled.

Your Motorola phone charger will not work and it may even damage your GPS! In the package you have a cigarrette lighter adapter for your car - the home charger (AC-charger) you have to purchase separately.

Hi.


First check the charger connection. If an alternative charger is available test different chargers.


If the Tomtom is starting, then try first resetting your TomTom.

To reset the TomTom follow the instructions on TomTom website, clicking here: TomTom, portable GPS car navigation systems - Factory reset .

If the Nav is still freezing or is dead after reset, then there is an internal fault.


In both situations the alternatives are going to a TomTom shop or calling the TomTom service number listed on manual and following the instructions given by their representatives.

If the unit is completely dead, as a first thing better going to a TomTom shop and asking to test a different charger.


The charger can also be tested at home using a multimeter on charger connector.

Cannot get our new Tomtom GPS one 130 to show English in instruct

Connect your device with TomTom Home and access the memory (like if it was an external disk)
Create the following 2 files without ant extension in the root:

cleanflash
runclean

It will reset your devide to the original settings.
When starting it will ask you which language you want to use.

Restored my tomtom because tech support told me to, and now i have no map!

Connect it to the computer and use the software Tomtom Home to update the GPS. If you had already used Home, it usually stores on your computer all the updates. If there is something on your computer, use Home to restore it to the GPS.
If the techs that told you to restore the GPS are people from TomTom support you should recontact them and explain what happened after you followed their instructions. The case number they gave you should help track your previous request for support.

If for some reason that does not lead you anywhere, you may have to purchase the relevant map from Tomtom.

Usb port in Tomtom 130 not working properly

It sounds like your mini usb connector is damaged or one of the components near to it. If you're handy you can buy a replacement and solder it in. You will need a very fine tip soldering iron and a magnifying glass. The repair can be quite challenging as the components are surface mounted. If it's a damaged component near the USB connector that is damaged then this wont solve the problem.
I can fix it for you for a small fee if you dont want to attempt repair.
I've repaired about 20 tomtom units with similar problems. I charge around £35 for this including return postage

Where is the Home Charger supposed to be??

The AC home charger usually does not come with the unit. It is purchased separately. However you can charge your tt with the included usb cable. Simply connect the usb cable to your pc and then connect your tt to the usb cable. You will now be able to charge your unit and after installing tt home get updates for your device.

My tomtom receiver is frozen on the start screen.

Connect your TomTom to the USB cable then turn on your TomTom in that order. Go to "My Computer" and open the drive that is your TomTom. Copy and paste your map folder to the desktop. Delete everything on your TomTom (don't format). After deleting everything on your TomTom. Open TomTom Home. TomTom Home will tell you, you need an application for your TomTom. Let TomTom Home load the application. You will probably have to do this at least 2 times to get the latest application for your device. After TomTom Home has loaded the latest application for your device closer TomTom Home and copy and paste your map back onto your TomTom. You should be ready to go after doing this. Make sure you do not skip a step when doing this.

TomTom Home must have corrupted the TomTom's operating system. That is what that symbol means. Contact TomTom support and tell them what model you have and they will walk you through getting the correct version installed.
