Hi Nemegraff, I have a Sony DVP- NC665P dvd player. I burned a dvd movie and noticed I could not play it on my player. I was getting a display code "T99". I believe the "T" stands for time on the dvd. Anyway, to my surprise, I found out if I press the "top menu" button on my remote, the dvd will start from the movie's main menu screen....then just hit enter or play and the movie will play. My problem is solved. I hope this helps you. best, larry
Its laser Picku Unit is faulty. Either it may be dirty, or its laser beam intensity has sent down. Just put a cleaning disc, and play it for atleast three times. If this helps you, you can understand that the lens of the laser assembly was dirty. If this also doesn't help you, repace the laser assembly with same type and number is the only remedy. OK.
CONFIGURE YOUR PLAYER IN THE LANGUAGE YOU WANT TO LISTEN, AND THE
SUBTITLES YOUR GOING TO USE BECAUSE ONCE YOUR DISC IS BEEN REPRODUCED
NONE MENU IS GOING TO WORK.
PUT YOUR DISC ON YOUR REGION YOUR GOIG TO USE AND, SET ON YOUR
REGION AND INMEDIATLY AFTER TO CLOSE THE COMPARTIMENT START TO PUSH
CONSTANTLY, (TOO MANY TIMES), THE NUMBER "6" - ENTER
YOU HAVE YO PUSH IT 10 TO 15 TIMES , AND THEN YOU CAN SEE THE
MOVIE WITH THE LANGUAJE AND SUTIBLES THAT YOU HAVE SELECTED BEFORE.
ENJOY YOUR MOVIE.
MAYBE FLIP UP A MESAGE LIKE " REGION INCORRETA" "WRONG REGIION", DONT WORRY, YOUR VIDEO IS GOING TO REPRODUCE HOWEVER.
IF 6 - ENTER DOESNT WORK, TRY WITH 7 - ENTER A LOT OF TIMES (I MEAN
CLICKING) OR 8 OR 9 OR 10, IT DEPENDS OF THE NUMBER OF CHAPTER THE
ONCE YOU OFF YOUT REPRODUCTOR IT RESTARTED LIKE YOU NEVER DID THIS PROCEDE.
YOU HAVE TO DO THIS IN EACH MOVIE YOU WANT TO PLAY.
or1. Switch on the player
2; Pop open the CD compartment
3. Enter the following code (using the remote): 2812
4. Highlight the region
5. Change to 9 (for Multi-region) using the 'Enter' button
6. Hit 'Clear' to exit
7. Pop in a DVD and enjoy!
Well I have been repairing dvd players a while now and the main problem spots are laser ,spindle motor, laser tracking motor and the biggest culprit and un suspecting one the lens cable .....most of them range from the lens cable to the spindle motor though... the constant movement of the lens in watching a whole movie causes the cable to unknowingly and slowly break and if the spindle motor is defective ,on inserting a dvd the disc spins slowly and you may hear the lens chirping ... so you can check those....
My Smasung DVD/VCR Combo stopped reading DVDs because of a dirty read head. It started by only playing disks sometimes, and progressed to never playing disks. I assumed it was a dirty laser lens so I bought a lens cleaner set. Unfortunately my player wouldn't play the cleaner disk.
So I took it apart and cleaned the laser lens manually with some isopropyl alcohol (the clenser that came with my cleaning disk), and a lens cloth (that came with my glasses). Just open the case (starting with the screws in the back) and remove the snap in cross panel that obscures the lens of the DVD portion. Put a drop of cleanser on the lens and gently wipe it with the cloth.
Oh and by the way, I take no responsibility if you break your own player while following my instructions. My own DVD player was far out of warranty at the time I cracked it open.
What you're describing is a common problem for this particular unit, a bad spindle motor.
In some cases the motor can be removed by the tech and torn down for cleaning.. But in a high percentage of cases shops just replace the motor...
What's happening, as your symptom appears the spindle motor is beginning to spin irratically. In turn the picture can sometimes just drop out. In others it simply folds over and is unwatchable.
The spindle motor is not too expensive..
