Question about Computers & Internet
You do need the driver - make sure it's for the right operating system. My original Acerpower was Windows XP, upgraded to Vista. Acer supplied the CD with updated drivers for Vista.

In order to get sound, you will just need to sound driver. The other drivers are for other things.
Pop open the case, and see what brand of motherboard you have. If it's MSI, you're in luck. Just do a google search for MSI live update, and it will download a utility, scan the PC, and then suggest the driver download.
If it's not an MSI board, just go to the manufacturers website, and do a search for audio drivers. It may want the model number of hte board which you can see, briefly when you switch on the PC. Its usually on the very first screen, will be white writing, on black background.
