Pioneer xv-dv424 power problem?

Please help!

I have a problem with my Pioneer surround sound system.

It started off a couple of months ago when for whatever reason my sub channel stopped working. Now, it won't even power on properly!

When plugged into the mains, the timer light on the front of the system flashes and it appears to be in stand-by. Pressing the power on button (on either the remote or the main unit) will cause the system to power on for literally 1 second (enough time for it to display 'welcome') before going straight back into standby mode.

Could it be a power supply issue? I only use this as my second system, but I am reluctant to bin it as it is still in fantastic condition.

Any help greatly appreciated!

I have exactly the same issue with my pioneer system, it wont work even with all the speakers disconnected, i took it to a repair man but was quoted over $250 to fix it, surely there is a way to do it yourself? Any Ideas what part might need replacing?

Try disconnecting all the speakers and turn it on. If it stays on, then a speaker (most likely sub) is gone and shorted, causing the system to shut down to prevent it from being damaged. Hooking up one at a time and powering on should help you find the bad one. If it still shuts down with all speakers disconnected, then you've got internal problems with the system itself. Time to visit a repair man.

Hope this helps, and please rate my advice, good OR bad.

Good luck!

HI i have my PIONEER XV-DV77 BUT NOW ONCE I INCREASE VOLUME THE SYSTEM CUT OFF PLEASE HELP?

You may have a short in one of your speaker wires, and the receiver is protecting itself, or you may have too many speakers connected, or be trying to make the sound louder than your receive can handle.

Hi i have a pioneer dv424 system and something went wrong with it the timer indicator flashes only but the system does not work or function at all help please thanks

Hello,
As to the timer function, maybe I don't recall any of these units ever having such a feature, however, that would out be the source of your issue anyway. Here's a couple of things to try first. Please check all your speaker wires, to be sure that there are no strands of fine wire touching the positive and negative terminals. If that is OK, open your manual, about 2/3 of the way to the back, and you will find a procedure called, "Return to factory defaults......or just Reset". You can try that procedure, but if that still doesn't remedy your problem, your unit probably has a condition known as DC Offset(meaning a damaged amp). If you need further information, or would like to inquire about a repair, please visit me website at audioserviceclinic.com. You may contact me there. Thank you.

Pioneer XV-DV313 home cinema. One of my speeker jack is not working(Green). Nothing wrong with the speaker. How can I fix it.?

Green speaker jacks usually mean center channel. The center channel is not used in all surround modes. Make sure you are playing a movie, and have a dolby or prologic surround mode selected.

Help getting sound from New Sony LCD Television Model XV HTD520 DVD Player with Surround Sound S HTD520

While I could not find it in the manual, I found that you must
go to the menu, open Sound Options and set Speakers to "Fixed".

Note: If you turn off the Surround Sound or DVD player combination you must then go back to the menu and turn the speakers back to Televsion.
