Question about Audio Players & Recorders
I have a problem with my Pioneer surround sound system.
It started off a couple of months ago when for whatever reason my sub channel stopped working. Now, it won't even power on properly!
When plugged into the mains, the timer light on the front of the system flashes and it appears to be in stand-by. Pressing the power on button (on either the remote or the main unit) will cause the system to power on for literally 1 second (enough time for it to display 'welcome') before going straight back into standby mode.
Could it be a power supply issue? I only use this as my second system, but I am reluctant to bin it as it is still in fantastic condition.
Any help greatly appreciated!
Try disconnecting all the speakers and turn it on. If it stays on, then a speaker (most likely sub) is gone and shorted, causing the system to shut down to prevent it from being damaged. Hooking up one at a time and powering on should help you find the bad one. If it still shuts down with all speakers disconnected, then you've got internal problems with the system itself. Time to visit a repair man.
Hope this helps, and please rate my advice, good OR bad.
