Question about Brother HL 1230 Laser Printer
My printer is connected to the network and when i try to print a page it is not printing stating that an error is there .When i tried to print locally the printer printed the page.There is also a TICK mark beside the printer icon .So what could be the problem
Hi there the TICK mark just means that it is your default printer. Do you know the IP address for your printer if so follow instructions below.

I am assuming that the printer is connected to a network. Please check the network cables to make sure they are secured, and then try printing the network setup page. The network setup page will show status connected. If the status is not connected, contact your system support person to make sure the network is functioning correctly
Before sending a job to print, make sure the printer is set to ready state. Ready or Power Saver appears on the display. Please check the status of the toner and check that you are using the correct printer driver.

The 900 error usually indicates a software or communications problem. If the 900 error occurs only when the printer is receiving information from a network or computer, you should contact your software/network support. If the error occurs when the printer is idle or not connected to the network or PC, there may be a printer hardware or connection problem. Sometimes a bad connection with an Internal Network Adapter/Network Card can cause the problem. The first thing to check is the base printer.
To check the base printer
Turn off the printer and disconnect every cable, except for the power cord.
Turn on the printer and see if the error returns.
If the error does not return, try to print a test page from the Test Menu.
