Unfortunatley neither of your solutions has worked. The 802.11g network adaptor doesn't appear in the computers set up program or under networks in device manager.

A little background....My laptop was aquired from my workplace (a college) with absolutely nothing on it. I installed XP and then downloaded all the laptop drivers from the web including the 802.11g. I dont understand why it is not appearing having installed it

Two suggestions, first you may need to enable it in your computers setup program. Normally you have the option just before windows starts to load, either by pressing F8 or esc will get you into the the computers main/basic setup screen. You should find the wi-fi is disabled so just a case of changing it to enable.

Secondly, within windows go to control panel then device manager, network adaptors, and you may find that your broadcom 802.11g network adaptor is disabled, you will need to enable it by using the icons at the top. If there is a problem with it then there will be a question mark beside it, then you will need to post the error message your getting for further assistance.

Wireless botton not working

Which Operating System are you on? Vista, Windows XP or Windows 7?

What do you mean it is not working? You switched it on? Are you connected to your wireless network? If not, do so. Also you should be able to view available wireless networks to make sure the wireless is on.

There is the possibility that your wireless card inside the computer is bad.

Mini wireless mouse not working

Well typically with wireless mice you must press both bottons on both the mouse and the connecter...then after pressing both buttons restart you computer might not recognize a new piece of hardware right after being turned on. Also make sure there isn't software that needs to be installed there normally is with usb wireless mice. If this does not work please post a comment and I will help you futher. If this does help please be kind and return the favor of giving me a fixya! rating have a good day!
