Question about Washing Machines

1 Answer

No water in the drum

THere is no water what so ever visible in the drum when the washing is being washed, the washing looks wet, but it is not being dipped into anything. Is my brand new wahing machine broken or is this normal with these new types? Still the washing does not feel really clean when I get it out.

Hmmm, it is a DAEWOO DWD FD 1411 B washing machine. I was watching the whole programme (as desperate as it sounds) and there is no other water coming in except for the water coming in through the upper part where you load washing powder. I found out also that this machine works with air bubbles and some silver nano particles, but I still believe that for bubbles to work there should be water in the drum.

It is a brand new machine, but they delivered it already broken - the water pump did not work and had to be replaced. Plus I had terrible trouble with the service - took them ages to come by. Therefore, I am trying to find out whether the machine is behaving normally before I have to go through the whole pain of fighting with mechanics to come and fix it. And indeed, the machine is still under warranty, but the service sucks. Thank you for your reply. Daniela

You have to know if the water pressure is good,
Are you sure the hose is not kinked, you should be able to hear a steady hissing sound when the machine is filling with water, is the drain pipe above the level of the machine, it must be for the water not to just drain away.
many modern machines do not take much water but if the washing is not clean then I suggest you get a mechanic to look as they may be able to increase the dip level a bit, if the machine is fairly new, it should be still under warranty??

Hoover washer dryer - not sure it is filling with enough water

How old is the machine and which wash cycle are you selecting? Newer machines use very little water; it is not needed.

Clothes still wet after washed

There could still be water in between the drums. Have a look at the filter, pump and all outlet pipes for a blockage. the excees water that you have when you have clothes in will be what's left in the clothes, wih the machine empty you may just be seeing what shows above the inner drum.

Whirlpool Duet 9150.. should I be able to see water in the tub when it is washing? There is no visible water level. The clothes are wet but how do they get clean?

water is drawn THROUGH the clothes. There is a BIT of water in the drum - however the water sprays on the clothes during the wash cycle and draws the dirt/water/detergent THROUGH the clothes.

Not enough water per load the cloths get wet but there is no water floating in the drum should there be water visible on the door?

not really...that's the point of these washers..low water usage. the clothes fall into a small puddle in the bottom over and over and rinse often.

Water still leaking

Look at and examine the door seal closely for any sign of a hole or tear in it.
If none is visible then it could be the clamp or spring that holds the seal to the drum front that is causing the prob..
Other than that , there could be a crack or hole in the container front.
