Lumix won't download pic to pc

Please ensure you are using the included USB cable to connect the camera to the PC. Then turn the camera on. You will then be prompted to select a USB mode. Choose "PC".

I am trying to transfer pics from my camera to my pc ??? i plugged it in and card is in camera but nothing?? help?

Here are some steps to run through to make sure the camera works as you'd expect it:

  1. Ensure that all cables are properly secured from the computer to the camera.
  2. Ensure that the memory card has not been dislodged from the camera.
  3. Check the camera's memory socket and the memory card for debris. A can of 'compressed air' can work wonders (typically available at any computer store).
  4. Make certain that the port connecting the camera to the computer is not damaged. Look for any bent pins in the camera's memory slot. Try replacing the camera cable. If the camera uses a USB port, try another USB port. If you don't have another USB port available, try plugging in another USB device to verify that the USB port is working.
  5. Check the power source on the camera. If you're using batteries while attempting to transfer the pictures to the PC, try changing your batteries, recharge the batteries, or use an A/C adapter.
  6. Try reinstalling the digital camera software on your computer. In most cases, reinstalling over top of the existing software will resolve this issue.
  7. Take the media out of the digital camera and attempt to download it to another computer. If all else fails, try formatting the camera media. Most newer-generation digital cameras equipped with an LCD screen have a menu option that can format your media.
Hope this helps.

I need a camera cable (USB) for my casio EX-Z9 exilim. How can I find the right one?

You can get the correct lead from almost any large computer or photographic store, it does not have to be the official Casio item.

The lead needs to be a standard USB socket at one end (USB type A) and the other end is a micro USB (micro USB type B). This is by far the most common type for many cameras and phones now so shouldn't be expensive or difficult to find.

Alternatively, ditch the cable altogether and use an external card reader. Removing your memory card and putting it into an external reader to transfer images is usually much faster, especially if you also avoid using the clunky and non-essential software which most cameras are supplied with.

I hope that you've found my reply to be of use and ask in return only that you rate my answer.

Check that all the pins in the USB cable are straight and not bent. You will need a torch and possibly a magnifying glass to see this, also check the camera side to see there is no occlusion of the connectors. Check the PC end of the plug for the same. You dont have to have a a CANON Usb cable just buy one that fits, most Tandy stores or similar can help you there just take your camera with you for the fit

USB connection doesn't register on PC

Have you tried reinstalling the software? It may be the PC not picking up the camera, rather than the camera itself.

I need to locate a usb adapter that I can upload pictures 2 PC.

Hello Charlotte,

This camera takes a standard USB cable that has a "4 pin mini B" end on it. You can buy this cable at most camera and computer stores. There is another type of "mini" USB connector so make sure you get the 4-pin mini B type. For best results, take the camera with you and make sure the cable fits into the slot on the camera before you purchase the cable - that way there is no way to get the wrong cable. Good luck

USB cable problem when transferring

could be a bent pin maybe?
I would just go out and buy a card reader so that you can read the memory card without the cord. and then you wont have to worry about it.
the card reader cost about 20 a new cord would be more.
Hope that helps,
Caleb

Use your USB cable or a Card Reader. Read your manual to insert Date on pictures. Note date will show on pic and cannot be removed.

Best idea is to downloand you pics asap and change each pic file name to embed date taken in filename, not on the pic itself.

I recomment the San Disk MobileMate SD+ miniature Card Reader for SD and MicroSD card reading. Just a little larger than a Flash Thumb Drive. Saves lugging around a USB camera cable and saves your camera power otherwise needed to power a download via a USB cable. About $15 at RadioShack, Staples, etc retail stores selling cameras.

Lost cord

According to the specs I found, it just uses a simple USB device cable. The end that attaches to the camera should be (like it is on 90% of all cameras) called a USB B aka a "5 Pin" connection. Most office supply/technology/camera stores should carry it. Here is a link to one on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-F3U138-06-5-Pin-Mini-B-6-Feet/dp/B000067RM3/ref=pd_bbs_1/104-6678187-8752762?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1188428107&sr=8-1 Take a look at the connector. If the port on the camera is a bit smaller or a little more square, then you may need the less common "4 pin". http://www.amazon.com/Cables-6-Foot-4-Pin-Digital-Cameras/dp/B00006B6PJ/ref=pd_bxgy_e_img_b/104-6678187-8752762?ie=UTF8&qid=1188428107&sr=8-1 These 2 connectors make up about 95% of connectors for common digital cameras.
