Check to be sure the spring isn't binding in some way preventing it from moving freely. It is possible the mounting screws may be too tight deforming the plastic a little. Also be sure it is absolutely level. It is critical on the mercury type thermostats.

Thermostat wire problem

That's very possible. Maybe when you were pulling it was snagging on something. I would strip the new wire again at the splice and give it another shot. Possibly

Need substitute switch part for sears saw

Sorry , but go buy a new saw. Your not going to find an aftermarket
dealer that carries this switch.

Trying to rig some other switch is not worth the trouble over buying a new one. If the switch is not available, then the saw is old.

Clothes Dryer won't stay on after switch is depressed.

some of them dryers have a switch other than the push button located behind the console. it also has an identical heat switch beside it. if that holding switch is bad it will not stay running. of the two identical switches the run switch is on the left. good kuck.

I have a Honeywell T8000C1002 thermostat I got from my inlaws and it doesn't have the owners manual. I'm trying to hook it up to where an old rocker murcery honeywell was at and can't figure out how to...

Your red wire from the old R terminal goes to both the R and Rc terminal on the new stat. Other wires from old stat move to same terminal on new stat. You will not have any connections to the B or O terminal. Sounds like you probably already have it hooked up right though. This thermostat is what we call a power-stealing thermostat. It "steals" is power by running a trickle current to the transformer from the R terminal back through the W terminal. This meathod requires a standard resistive type thermal relay for the heating system. If you have an electronic type circuit board, many times they do not provide the proper type of connection for the thermostat to "steal" the necessary amount of power to run on. This is solved by installing a resistor from W to C in the furnace. If you have a standard electric furnace with thermal relays, then the problem is most likly the thermostat
