100000BTU Kerosene (no t-stat) Fires up and works intermittantly

100000BTU Kerosene no t-stat Fires up and works from 30 seconds to 5 minutes sometimes longer. I find if I elevate the unit it sometimes work longer but drips fuel from the back. This is a late 1980's model

I replaced fuel lines and thought that it was fixed. After 5 minutes or so it shuts of. You can hit reset and it comes back on but does the same thing.

The fuel leak must be corrected since I believe this is
connected to the fuel supply at the nozzle at the firing
area. Fuel nozzle must be atomize all the time to keep
it burning, otherwise the operation stops. This is what I
know from experience. May this info help you.

You have fixed the leak and still the problem remains. So, please
check the following; (Unplug the power line)
    1. Check the line from the kerosene tank to the inlet port of the
pump. See to it that the line is free by disconnecting the pipe at
the inlet port of the pump. Kerosene will flow free if this line is
disconnected, and is therefore, okey. Otherwise, declogg or
clear it up, and reconnect the pipeline.
    2. Check the fuel pump, if this is running normally, by observing
the fuel nozzle if there is a continous supply of atomized
kerosene at the ignition chamber. If the flow of atomized
kerosene stopped, Check the pump motor. I presume that
the motor also stopped. Then, run it again, and observe the
motor, the bearing may need replacement. You can also check
the motor by a Clamp ammeter. The ampere reading must not
    exceed the nameplate rating.
    May this help you.

Kerosene Heater starts up and then shuts down

David, you need a copy of the Troubleshooting Manual here:
http://www.toyotomiusa.com/OwnersManuals/Portable%20Heaters/Name%20begins%20with%20LR%20or%20LS/LR-350%20LR-450%20Troubleshooting%20manual.pdf
It sure sounds like a failure during pre-ignition. Page 5 covers both of your burn times with two different Flow charts.
A yellowish flame can mean a warped flame ring or incorrect air flow.

It sounds to me like you overfill the crankcase and it got into the air cleaner. The oil light it is for pressure in most cars.

100000Btu Reddy kerosene heater fires up then shuts down after a few seconds to a few minutes

1. Check the fuel nozzle if it produces an atomized
spray of the kerosene all the time.
2. If it doesn't atomize, pls check the fuel pump, it is
working right.
3. Your igniter is working, since it fires up.
Check item 1 & 2 must be satisfied to get it to working
condition. Hope this help.

MY KEROSENE HEATER STARTS, RUNS MAYBE 5 MINUTES THEN SHUTS OFF

Same problem I had and it was the CAD/flmae sensor. you can get one that will fit from Mr. Heater for 3 bucks or from reddypats.com for 18. the wires are a different color but all you do is clip them and splice them to your old wire harness. It does''nt matter how you hook them as there is no hot and ground just a complete circuit.
