Slow internet My internet connection's speed is 3Mbps. It works fine but often slows down (even to 0). After I've restarted the router (unplug, wait, and plug in), my internet works like it should. Please HELP.

Same thing here. Internet slows down and usually a lot of site gets filtered by the rooter. I have to reset and restart the rooter so the sites to work again. Without the rooter, everything goes fine.

If you have 3mb, you have cable internet right? If so, the cable company cuts your speed off if you download too much over a certain period of time. My cable company confirmed this. I can download all I want from midnight til noon, but after that... They will cut your speed off if you download more than a certain amount. You can call them to find out what the amount is.

Of course they tell you that, but if you call the tech support, they will tell you the limit on your bandwidth.

I installed the wifi router 3 days back. Had some initial problems which i solved using the books in kit. However, speed was very slow. Next afternoon, speed suddenly picked up. It was perfectly fine...

Hello Ahmed,

This may have nothing at all to do with your router, but may be associated with your modem, or cable connections inside and outside the home, or even your ISP.

I recommend you check with your ISP for a service visit to ensure all is working according to specifications.

My internet connects slows (211kbps) and drops off completely. AT&T says it's inside the home. Anyway to check the modem? I have unplugged and restarted it several times

More likely your telephone junction box outside your house has a bad wire connection - I've experienced the same problem before for my DSL. In addition, sometimes my phone line would go out as well - no dial tone. Listen to your phone and check if you have a dial tone when the Internet connection drops out - they may be associated.

Ethernet speed changes from normal to zero

If you have high speed internet go to your ISP webpage and do a speed test. If You are paying for say like 10 MEGS and are only pulling 1.2 Megs. It probably is your modem. Your speed will slow down to approx 7.5 behind a router. Also Your ethernet cable might need replacing. might also might try resetting your router. disconnect all power even the cable comming in and reset everything. Hope that helps.

Good Signal,Good Mbps, Slow Internet Connection?

1. Try to use a different wireless adapter on all available USB ports, if the problem remains then
2. turn off your PC unplug the power cord from the power socket, short the two legs of the power cable then leave it for 5min, then plug it into the power socket again and turn on the PC.

if this didnt work then you have a hardware problem with the USB ports.

let me know how it works out.

Speeding up internet

Here are a few suggestions on how to speed connection:

- Move router or pc location if possible. Closer = better connection usually

- Try changing the channel your router is broadcasting on. Sometimes there are slower channels and faster channels in heavy traffic area

- If you have any toolbars in your browser (i.e., yahoo or google), remove them. Those toolbars use up resources that can slow you down.

- Delete cookies and internet files

If these don't work, post a comment on here with your operating systems on laptop and desktop and router type.
