I had to use two screwdrivers and some elbow grease to get the cartridge out. Look on top of the cartridge housing for a rectangular-shaped tab. (Pulling up on the tab with a screwdriver, you should notice some give in the cartridge.) While using one screwdriver to pull up the plastic tab on top of the cartridge housing, use the screwdriver to pull the cartridge out by wedging the head of the second screwdriver as close to the back of the cartridge as possible, then pushing and pulling simultaneously. Took a few tries and some wiggly of the cartridge, but it finally popped out. Beats buying a new printer (or trading up, as suggested by HP technical support).
Hi, try to disconnect the printer from the power supply (ie. removing the cables on the back of the printer) and manually move the carriage to the cartridge loading position. If it's locked and impossible to move to the correct position, try to move the paper feed rollers in the contrary motion of the normal paper feeding motion to unlock the cleaning station and try to move the carriage again.

Ink cartridge contains Ink tank, electrical circuit & print nozzles. Adding ink to ink tank is called refilling, if any fault in circuit/nozzles will indicates the cartridge error.. Before refilling check cartridge health condition. In your case its sure that cartridge faulty, go for new one..
HP 75 tricolor cartridge is not designed for PSC 2355.If you try to install it,you'll get a message incompatible ink cartridge or cartridge problem.using a different cartridge may also damage the chip embedded in the printer.do not use hp 75 as a replacement for hp 95.
You must be using HP94 95 Have you refill your cartridge at all? If you did, gentely wipe out the cartridge circuit part with Q-tip (with bit of alcohol). And wipe out the circuit part in the printer where cartridge goes in as well. And try back. Sometimes by having some dust or bit of ink make cartridge unreadable. If you used brand new, do same thing to cartridge circuit part. Otherwise, there got to be some circuit shot happen in printer. For your reference, HP 2355 is not a new model and has not cause major problem. Good practical and durability is good. If you would like to save money, try refill kit by "ROADINK". Not only they are easy, but also the printing quality is good. For your better understanding pls check out my youtube video. And will see how easy ink refill can be done.
It means you have a faulty or incorrect cartridge installed on the right side position. It could also mean the contacts are dirty or misaligned. Remove the cartridge, clean with rubbing alcohol and reinstall.
This is not a unknown error particularly if you are using cartridges other than the HP brand. Other people will tell you it is fine to use off brand cartridges or refilled cartridges. For myself, I have never had luck doing that - on the other hand, I have never been disappointed using the more expensive cartridges recommended by the manufacturer across several brands including Epson, Canon, Compaq and HP.
Try cleaning the contacts and ink jets. You may have to replace the cartridge. If that is the case, I would return the faulty cartridge and get a store credit.
Just a few thoughts for you to consider. Thank you for using FixYa.com today.
I actually did the same thing, on a different printer though. If you managed to get it in, it WILL come out. There is no secret answer to this.
You need to be a little more forceful with it. Try to remember how you maneuvered it the first time and work from there. Don't give up ! I work in construction so I have a pretty good grip. You may need to find someone who also has good strong hands.
I hope you get it,
The problem seemed to escalte around the time I installed Internet Explorer 8 . The first thing I tried was to return to an earlier Restore point . When I would click on the internet explorer icon , the screen would flash but I couldnot access the main page . I then moved my restore point to the day I installed Internet explorer 8 . I had several printer errors displayed on the printer . Other than hp I tried to get intouch with Microsoft . Weekday hours for microsoft and not sure what was up with HP on line assistance . Ellimanated all printers and re installed deskjet 990c . Followed windows xp for Dummies for installation . Funny thing ,I can't find that page again .
I fill my own ink cartridges as I live on an island . The printer screen flashed on it;s screen that I had the wrong ink cartridge installed . Just happened to have a new one from Xmas . Installed it and it seems to work . I could also copy from the printer but not from the PC.
The PC works , but the printer does seem to remain connected . I push the start button and find sometimes it comes on . If not I remove and re insert the power cord . It turns on . I then have to go through the proccedure of going to printers and selecting either HP 2355 which is in ready mode, Deskjet 990c (1) in waiting now with a check mark and Deskjet 990 c . I then click to get 990c as the main printer . How the other 2 got reestablished is beyond me ?
I have been thinking of getting a Mac ., but I have been told it would be a whole new learning curve . Iknow they are not also without faults .
As of this reply I believe it is sorted out .Thank you for your interest . I hope this may help someone else ,if it makes any sense .This printer model is no longer made .I
Check manual for appropriate cartridge class for tri color and use same numbers as in manual you may be using 22 cartridge for 28 for example for your printer this cartridges look the same in all aspects but some HP printers can only be used by only one of this types. Check printer manual for compatible ink cartridges. And if you have been refiling the old cartridge you need to get a new one to reset the computer cartridge memory count.
