Contrast ratio is the ratio between black and white. So low contrast ratio (5000:1) means you can;t see the screen so well in a bright room (where there's a lot of sunlight) A higher contrast ratio (20000:1) means the screen is brighter so easier to see in bright rooms.

Pixel pitch refers to the distance between pixels. The lower the pixel pitch, the sharper the image

No display on monitor

There are a number of possible reasons after checking what you have so far. Have you checked that the video card has not been disturbed inside the computer?.
Try starting your computer in safe mode, see link below. Just in case you have a driver problem.

My Westinghouse monitor is not going on but the power light is on do I need another monitor it is 5yrs old or more

It could be your monitor driver card that is bad.
Before you go buy a new monitor, do a quick test on
connecting the monitor to a laptop or portable computer if you have one,
or if you can, get a friend that has one a laptop and use the monitor
signal cable that is already there, and connect it into the
temporary or borrowed computer to see if you get a picture.
Your borrowed computer will need to know that your attaching
and external monitor, so that will need to be done to let the
new computer being used, to know that it is being attached.
If you get a picture, its your old computer driver card.
If it still stays blank, or no picture, then your 5 year old monitor is bad.
Also, but unlikely, it could be the monitor signal cable that
is bad, in that case it will not work on either application.
You could substitute the cable to make sure its not the cable also
for a quick check, on both applications.

The speakers are set up correctly. When I bring my baby monitor close to the speakers, they make that high pitched sound. I can hear fuziness but no sound???!!

this is due largely to a lot of electrical interference from the baby monitor, this happens because the speakers and monitor are operating at the same or near same frequency, there is no real clear solution for this but the best thing to do would be to avoid having them near each other.

hope this helps and good luck with it.

switch your subwoofer off from the socket for at least 30 minutes and check if the noise is still there,if its still there open it and play a movie then press it lower if the sound stops then you will have to put some toilet papers at the back of it ,thats what I did to mine.
