Have hp officejet 6300 which prints well, but everything is shifted about an inch to the right, meaning there is no right hand margin, and a large left hand one.

    thank you Pauldonp

I will try your reinstall solution when I get home. I have tried the resets on the printer itself to no avail. The print preview looks perfect, the result is off center to the right.

Thanks Pauldonp. Unfortunately I tried your solution and it did not work. Even with reinstalled software I continue to have the shifting problem. But I should add that the printer has an alignment problem, as it can't print an alignment page when I reinstall a cartridge. Restoring factory defaults don't seem to work. Any other ideas?

Hi the problem is goint to be with the software not the printer if the print quality is fine and its just the page allignment thats out then you will need to reinstall the software that came with the printer this will reset everything back to factory settings and this should then solve your problem.
Also have you looked at the print preview to see if it is ligned up properly on the page let me know ok then i can assist you further ok

The best thing to do is unplug the printer from computer then remove the software that came with it then reinstall this should restore to factory settings when you reinstall the software if you need further assistance after doing this let me know but im going to be out for a few hours so will be back online later just let me know ok

Hi ok then if you re done all software install and still have problem then the problem is going to be with the printer software itself this isnt something you can do yourself as the people who work on them plug something into the printer circuit board and this allows them to reinstall the software that is on the printer itself.
You might even find the board has a problem maybe a part on the board itself has failed the problem is their are no servicable parts on the board itself.
As you have reset the printwer to factory settings this would have solved any problem with any settings that are wrong on the computer and also any problems with the printer it now looks like something has failed on the printers circuit board but i know they dont repair these as you cant get the parts and also the repairs would cost more than the printer would to buy.
You could ask a computer shop if you like but im 100% sure they will tell you the same.
You could try this one last thing
    1. remove printer software form comp
    2. leave printer connected to comp and switched on
    3. goto control panel
    4. goto add hardware devices
    5. let your comp search for devices
    6. scroll down list untill you see printer then select it
    7. dont check the box that says "have disk" leave it blank
    8. let comp search the net for software
    9. when located install
this might find some newer version of software that might cover the problem you having as new software comes out they improve on it if their is any common problems give this a try you got nothing else to lose but failing this i think this could be the end of your printer that is unless the problem is with the cable itself.
remove cable and check for damage like kinks or splits in outer casing then put it back and try printing let me know if searching for new software work you might be luck let me know ok

I no longer have my manual, how do I change the ink cartridges for the HP Officejet 6300 all-in-one?

To replace the print cartridges
1. Make sure the HP All-in-One is on.
Caution If the HP All-in-One is off when you open the print cartridge door
to access the print cartridges, the HP All-in-One will not release the
cartridges for changing. You might damage the HP All-in-One if the print
cartridges are not docked safely on the right side when you try to remove
them.
2. Open the print cartridge door.
The print carriage moves to the far right side of the HP All-in-One.
3. Wait until the print carriage is idle and silent, and then lightly press down on a
print cartridge to release it.
If you are replacing the tri-color print cartridge, remove the print cartridge from the
slot on the left.
If you are replacing the black or photo print cartridge, remove the print cartridge
from the slot on the right.
4. Pull the print cartridge toward you out of its slot.
5. If you are removing the black print cartridge in order to install the photo print
cartridge, store the black print cartridge in the print cartridge protector or an
airtight plastic container.
If you are removing the print cartridge because it is low or out of ink, recycle the
print cartridge. The HP Inkjet Supplies Recycling Program is available in many
countries/regions, and lets you recycle used print cartridges free of charge. For
more information, go to the following website:
www.hp.com/hpinfo/globalcitizenship/environment/recycle/inkjet.html
6. Remove the new print cartridge from its packaging and, being careful to touch
only the black plastic, gently remove the plastic tape by using the pink pull tab.
7. Slide the new print cartridge forward into the empty slot. Then gently push on the
upper part of the print cartridge forward until it clicks into the socket.
If you are installing the tri-color print cartridge, slide it into the left slot.
If you are installing a black or photo print cartridge, slide it into the right slot.
8. Close the print cartridge door
9. If you installed a new print cartridge, the print cartridge alignment process begins.
10. Make sure you have plain paper loaded in the input tray, and then press OK.
11. The HP All-in-One aligns the print cartridges. Recycle or discard the print
cartridge alignment sheet.
12. Press OK.

How To Find Motherboard Drivers

How To Find Motherboard Drivers:

Here is a real world example on Fixya.com of some one having a problem getting drivers:

Question:
I need drivers for my FC GIGABYTE 8vm533m-rz motherboad

That is a some what a perfect question, the brand has been given and the motherboard modal number has also been given, so finding the drivers will be a peace of cake !

First of all, always go to the makers brand website, in this case we would go to Gigabyte's official website located here

Next, go to support & downloads;
Then copy and paste the motherboard modal number ( in this case is 8vm533m-rz )
From there we can get the drivers, located : HERE
locate the bios update: HERE
and that crucial mobo manual we all seem to lose: HERE

And that's the very basics, the same method would be used for every motherboard. Mostly all manufactures are happy to provide the drivers and support software on there websites.

Hope this helps some one out there.

Unable to print document 1" top, bottom, andleft and right. Font very small. Margin needs to be aligned with computer

and Hi again,

For some unknown reason(s) our Live Session was cut. Any development(s)?

Pls, in MS Word, have you tried clicking on File and then Print Preview? Would you so kind as to check if the way the document is shown is the same way the document was printed?

If yes, was the right margin as you would want it to be? otherwise, have you checked on the settings of the MS Word document specifically the right indent as shown below in red circle?

Would appreciate if you can post back any developments or even the lack of it.

Cheers.

check the feeder rollers and make sure they are grabbing the page at the right time. Sometimes rollers cna get slick and spin for a moment before picking up the paper. This can cause the timing to be off when the page is fed through.

HP LASERJET 3700N - PRINTING PROBLEM

I'm not sure what you mean by "not printing on paper, the image area is shifting". What are you printing on?

Have you tried uninstalling the device drivers and reinstalling them? This may clear any software quirks caused by conflicting devices or user settings.

I need to know if there is a way to change the top margin (first print line) on a Lexmark 250DN printer. The first print line is about 1/2 inch from the top. I need to start printing 1/4 inch from the...

You change the margins in the word processor application, not the printer. You did not list what application you are using.

In microsoft word, you click on "file", then click "page setup". This will give you the correct dialog to change your margins. Really simple and easy.

For futher questions like these, use google search.

here is one i found using google:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word/HP052292751033.aspx

All I did was type "how do i change the margins in microsoft word" into google. It will be a lot faster searching on google than waiting for a fixya reply.
