I just got my xbox 360 arcade this past Christmas and it didn't seem to any problems. But now I went to play left 4 dead 2 and it started making loud noises. So I went to the dashboard and took out the game and there was a complete circlular ring and several smaller scratchs on the disk. I have always kept the xbox vertical and never touch it when it's on unless changing game.
I've heard that when you put discs in the 360 and have the machine
perpendicular to the ground, scratches sometimes occur. From my own
personal experience, physically moving the 360 while playing a disc can
sometimes cause scratches. I'd call 1-800-4-MYXBOX and ask them about
it. Try their tech support and hopefully any fixes fall within your warranty or are easier than that. I'm sure that they'd be glad to help. Good luck!

Well your disc is officially garbage. Don't bother trying to fix your game disc. Do what I did. Go to sellitbroken.com and sell your game to them. They will give you good money for it.
