Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W30-control buttons stuck

I have had my camera for over a year and it has been working perfectly. I tried to turn it on yesterday and the clock set screen appears but the control buttons are all frozen. Only the power button is working.

Any advise would be much appreciated ;0)

I have now tried leaving the battery out all afternoon-but still no joy. It is stuck on the clock set screen (the clock cannot be set) and no other screen can be viewed.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

I have to admit defeat-my camera is broken!

Take a soft reset of your camera, uninstall for the moment the battery and live for a while whithout a power running on it.

Let me know.

Try removing battery then switch back on it could be that your camera has been left somewhere damp and coroded the pads on the buttons causing a constant circuit as if the button is stuck let me know if you have tried removing battery ok

Hi it does sound like a stuck button or its got wet or damp causing short and not allowing to press any buttons the only thing you can do witch is risky is take the case of and clean behind the buttons i have done this on a different camera and also on phones but they are all different and couldnt tell you how to take the cases off your so i wouldnt do it unless you have some idea whats involved.
Do you have any warranty left as this is the only way to get it repaired or replaced as you cant get these repaired its just not financially worth it no camera shop will even look at repairing them.

One button of the camera is stuck, try pressing hard all buttons various times with the camera turned off and try using it again.

I have a sony cyber-shot dsc-w30 and the setting dial is loose just a tap and it switches functions... Can i fix this?

Setting dial has internal carbon coating that seems worn out so it can not be fixed by cleaning etc.
Replace setting dial as it calls Control Switch Block and part number is as follows:
147958411... CONTROL SW BLOCK (SW110T) (W30)
Available with Part Store for $25 and handy person can replace it easily by taking apart camera carefully.
Thanks.

I had the same problem. Your focus is stuck.
Try to free the focus from whatever (sand, dust, etc.) by hitting the camera. Start gentle, and if it doesn't work, hit it hard...the DSC-W30 is very rugged , that was my experience!
Greetings from Germany and good luck!
