There is a "Firmware" update to Cyclone micro 3 .This can be downloaded from Sumvision web site :-

When downloaded copy the file on to a Memory stick or card and click the USB entry or memory card entry on the main menu, and the Cyclone will update itself .
There should now be an entry on the main menu for "internal storage"

i am having the same problem.

can anyone explain.

Power tries to turn on but fails to come up with screen that says HELLO.

It just flickers on for a second and then powers down straight away.

Then follow these easy installation instructions:

Info: Hard drive must be either new or contain very little data for this update to work.

1.) Extract the file

2.) Put it in the root of the HDD
Note: Dont change the file name, dont put it in a folder

3 .) Power the device on, go to the "setup" section, and click the upgrade firmware

Try connecting the av cable to the tv

The firmware file isnt a VLC file it is a .bin file you can get the file off sumvisions website http://www.sumvision.com.cn/drivers.aspx it is the second one down.

http://www.sumvision.com.cn/drivers.aspx Its the second one down where it says firmware when its downloaded extract it onto the hard drive make sure there isnt much files on the hard drive then connect to tv go to setup select firmware and press play to update.

there is a button on your remote control that says TV SYSTEMS just press this button until it changes back to the correct setting
